Or even worse- both together. Xfm dj just said something was "totes amazeballs". Speak the LANGUAGE FFS.

Haha! The worst thing is, in that case, that "totes" is used frequently by a colleague of mine, who is, ahem... Not yooffull in the slightest. Just trying to get down with the kids I guess. Yes I am well jel.

Ahhh, okay, as a shortened version of 'supreme' or 'remarkable', I suppose it makes sense. Although it's still a shit word.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 12/05/2012 18:03

Aargh my ears/eyes are burning! "tessies"?! Who on god's earth says THAT?!

I like "totes", "amaze" and of course together "totes amaze"

Also "hilar"

I will admit to sometimes saying things like "totes" and "well jel" (in context naturally!) to my pupils just to enjoy the look of disgust on their faces.

Nothing is more reliably designed to consign something to the realm of "uncoolness" than hearing a middle-aged teacher say it ... that's my Master Plan.

MissAnnersley · 12/05/2012 18:13

I do exactly the same salmo. Grin

DS says 'kaykays' when I ask him to do anything. Drives me crazy.

nicolag84 · 12/05/2012 18:17

How do you feel about natch (naturally) and holibobs (holidays)?
I once unfriended someone on fb because the upset me so much with the use of the word holibobs!

Salmotrutta · 12/05/2012 18:18

I'm almost guaranteed to spontaneously combust if I hear "soz" too ...

"Kaykays"??!! Grin

Salmotrutta · 12/05/2012 18:20

Oh God - "holibobs" sounds like Sarah Kennedy and her oh-so-amusing Hmm "skellingtons" and "chesticles" and "Sainsbugs".

I used to feel quite stabby when she was on Radio 2 of a morning. Angry

tinkertitonk · 12/05/2012 18:21

Sainsbos is also vile.

As is mummy.

FayKnights · 12/05/2012 18:22

'Frape', don't EVER use that word near me, it makes me stabby!
What does 'frothing' mean?

MonaLotte · 12/05/2012 18:26

"holibobs" is fucking ridiculous. I'm sorry but it sounds so twattish. I hardly ever swear on here but that word enrages me so!

As for "totes" and "reem" also imbecilic, yes I am talking to you 30+ year old FB friends...

JarethTheGoblinKing · 12/05/2012 18:28

Is Sainsbugs allowed?

holibobs makes me Grin (most of these words make me Grin - they're so twatty they're amusing)

SpeckleDust · 12/05/2012 18:28

Hmm I've said soz since I was about 10 years old . No way am I about to stop now. Especially like saying "Soz, Boz" in a sarcastic tone to my DH (don't know what the Boz bit means...)

Salmotrutta · 12/05/2012 18:33

Jareth - see above about Sarah Bloody Kennedy and her "Sainsbugs"

Too twee for words.

thestringcheesemassacre · 12/05/2012 18:36

Totes amazeballs all over twitter.
With KLAXON. I hate klaxon too.

EyesCrossedLegsAkimbo · 12/05/2012 18:52
Salmotrutta · 12/05/2012 18:56

Ah but it was taties as opposed to tatties that spawned the ire wasn't it?

Tatties is a proper well-hard word. Grin

EyesCrossedLegsAkimbo · 12/05/2012 19:02

But.. What? People say taties? As in Tate ee s?

Shoot the bastards!
