my bil to be is normally quite inoffensive, however he posted the following status on fb

'i love earning loadsa money, I can do what I want, when I want, tenerife for new year....why not'

we are really feeling the pinch atm, I think he sounds like a twat and want kick him in the bollocks, of course I wont but the temptation is there

You could ask him in a sneery condescending way why, if he earns "loadsa" money, he would go somewhere like Tenerife and not the Maldives?

He is vulgar, and a vulgar bil would be distressing. But this fb thing is not particularly terrible and I think you are possibly being a little bit sensitive OP. Having no money does suck though, so I understand how you feel.

At least you have the comfort of knowing that all his friends will think him a twat. And if some don't, then they are twats too.

If he's not usually like this then that would be my first reaction. It is always the case when an odd FB status pops up. Usually I post ha ha serves you right for not logging out or something.
