My parents are the epitomy of 60 something middle class baby boomers with TV habits to match (although they do watch Coronation St!).

Dad has been off work for 3 months due to health issues and I go round when mum is at work (2 days a week) to keep him company. So I went round a month or so ago and he turned off a DVD he was watching and JK was on TV. He watched it like Shock this, with odd "Bloody hell" "Who ARE these people?" and "Why on earth do people do this?" thrown in. OK.

But I have been round several times since to find....JK on the TV! He gets embarrassed and swears he had been watching a DVD, and then turns over :o

I think it is really funny but he is very ashamed and made me swear not to tell my mum cos she would take the piss too

He thinks I am VU for thinking that he is addicted to it and that I think its funny! Am I? Really?!

If my mum (63 yr old, middle class, liberal) watched JK without finding it a skin-crawly as I do, I'd be mortified. I can't stand the progamme; not because of the people on it, or the subjects covered, but because JK himself is such an arse. He seems to enjoy what he does, unlike most other hosts of similar shows.

I hate it, I wont have it on. And thats what I find so funny!

It is grotesque and I think he watches it because he cant quite believe it is so awful. In many ways, my parents have been quite sheltered to the nasty side of life, they live (and have always lived) in a lovely low crime middle class village where nasty poor people cant afford to live, so this was a surprise to him!

I on the other hand am one of the nasty poor people who live in the real world, so nothing on JK would surprise me, although I do find it sad :(

Ahhh. See my mum itches when she sees the Mail!

My sisters and I used to record JK and watch it in our lunchbreak. Eye-bogglingly riveting stuff. I also am addicted to the Daily Mail online. Same attraction, really. The fascination of the abomination.
