out of the people i know, the working class ones have spotless homes.

the middleclass ones seem alot more messier and nowhere near as spick and span.
they also tend to dress their children in odd socks etc.

anyone else noticed this?

The working class are always cleaning their steps aren't they "and they've got toast between their teeth"

Hahahahahahaha

LynetteScavo · 09/05/2012 21:12

Those programs about hoarders...they are always middle class. Piles and piles of the Gaurdian in their house.

Joiningthegang · 09/05/2012 21:13

Ah yes but Kim and Aggie they had working class people didn't they

bytheMoonlight · 09/05/2012 21:18

Op, you are getting a lot of stick but you are right and have made a valid point.
See piji's post above re. Kate Fox's book.

An interesting read re. the differences in classes

southeastastra · 09/05/2012 21:18

it's probably quite fun to class people by how clean their homes are

the real upper class let their dogs crap everywhere

Oh oh oh. I clean ALL the landing in my council block AND my window sills, and the window sills of both neighbours. That must make me Queen of the working class.

Radiator- I do feel superior to you. Thanks. Only now your socks look like cashmere, all that fluffy dust so people might accidentally think you are better than me

pickles35 · 09/05/2012 22:49

That book looks like a cracking read, Ive just ordered it off Amazon.

LibrarianByDay · 09/05/2012 22:52

I'm a lot poshet than I thought. Grin

LST · 09/05/2012 22:59

I clean my doorstep Blush and I brush the public footpath infront of my house too Blush

QueenofPlaids · 09/05/2012 23:01

Actually where I come from (but not where I am now) I think there's an element of truth to this, but probably moreso 20 years ago than now.

bejeezus · 09/05/2012 23:15

Haha! Maybe! Dunno, my house is quite messy. but I love a bit of class war me, can I join in?

bejeezus · 09/05/2012 23:17

House is messy BUT yes, I keep the front yard and pavement outside swept and clean and tidy! And I love shiney windows....

DrCoconut · 09/05/2012 23:40

I will admit to odd socks. With boots who notices? Or cares? Why waste socks that are OK except they don't match?

bejeezus · 09/05/2012 23:42

Nope! You are wrong-socks must stay with their brothers
