He was a vet though, and he was complimenting how fit and healthy my girl is Grin

My vet would never call my girl a fat bitch Shock although at times he has referred to her as 'solid' Grin

Kayano · 09/05/2012 15:12

Lol! Thanks for
Cheering me
Up op!

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/05/2012 15:16

HOW SEXIST!

LEMONAIDE · 09/05/2012 15:18

LOL I was preparing to really dislike him...but actually he is right (and most of them are labradors....they can sense I have training treats in my pocket from across a field in a way no other breed can!

lolaflores · 09/05/2012 15:19

I have seen a seriously overweight cat drraaagggg his fat carcass over our garden fence whilst the rats laughed and pointed. So it aint all about the bitches.

Whoopydofoxpoo · 09/05/2012 15:22

Right about training treats and labs ! My lab can sniff them out and if she sees another dog walker going near their pocket she is there like a shot - sitting at her feet , pleading with her ' my owner doesn't feed me ' brown eyes .

Mine is a slim bitch ( unlike her owner Shock)

madwomanintheattic · 09/05/2012 15:23

My fat bitch is a lab, too. Bred from a show line, so she has short legs and looks like a barrel even before the generous application of whatever food she can schnarf. Boy dog is a skinny worker with long legs. People recoil in horror when they see them out together and always comment on how, um, different they are.

Dh and I are weirdly similar.

LEMONAIDE · 09/05/2012 15:26

I have to say probably 80% of the labs I see out and about are overweight (actually im being kind, its probably more than that) Grin So it cant only be the "bitches" can it?

IAmBooyhoo · 09/05/2012 15:27

i got my boy weighed today at the vets. i was gutted that the vet told me he was a good weight for his size at 40kilo!! he wont climb into the boot of the car himself and i was hoping to put him on a diet but no that wont do. 40k it is. think i'm going to have to join a weightlifting club.

thebestisyettocome · 09/05/2012 18:44

Perhaps I should ask that this thread is moved to Feminism where we can all have a proper argy bargy Grin

OP posts:
LEMONAIDE · 10/05/2012 12:29

Gosh Iam 40k, what breed IS he?

IAmBooyhoo · 10/05/2012 12:39

he's a golden retriever. his daddy was huge. much bigger than he is now although he is not yet 2. i hope he doesn't get any bigger. he is so heavy i cant lift him in the bath anymore to get him washed and we dont have a walk in shower.

Convict224 · 10/05/2012 14:15

I have two boys, one is an athletic and energetic Kerry Blue and the other, well....is a big boned slow sleepy Cairn. I think his glands are playing up a bit. He hardly eats a thing....

(sobs at the sight of my fat dog....)
