To start a male lap dancing club?

I just wondered how the males who frequent these type of esablishments would take to knowing their dps were in there paying family money on some guy waving his todger in her face? I suspect the cries of

"Its harmless girly fun, everyone does it"
or
"I dont want to go but all my mates went and i didnt want to look stupid!"Wouldnt be quite as meaningfull if the boot were on t'other foot.

I get your point, but this sounds like my idea of hell on earth. I never understood why groups of grown women would pay money to go and bay and shriek at the Chippendales et al either. The very thought of it makes me queasy and altogether unsettled.

FartBlossom · 09/05/2012 17:50

ewwwwwww rather not thanks. Not my thing some guy gyrating his naked oiled up body around me

ihateshopping · 09/05/2012 18:01

My dh and I get up to much more fun then that, he has always said how there would no point in him going there!
personally i would have no problem in him going, might even want to join him and have a nosey!!

gafhyb · 09/05/2012 18:07

ledkr Unfortunate turn of phrase there ... I won't be putting by tongue anywhere thanking you very much

But yes a triumvirate of Jake Gylenhall (sp? - ach, who cares!), Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Ruffalo, giving me acting lessons would do

ledkr · 09/05/2012 18:10

Yes that Jake bloke is rather nice isnt he

One of the blokes I know paid for his DF to have a stripper but he did it in the local. All the facebook pics are of her straddling a man dressed as a policeman in sunglasses, whilst in the background a row of 60 year old men m and s jumper brigade are looking disaproving and muttering in to their pints. What possessed him to do it there I do not know!

FartBlossom · 09/05/2012 18:32

Ooh if my DH had got me a stripper it would be a deal breaker as he wouldn't know me at all. Strangly he has been to strip clubs twice and im not bothered at all. I just dont see the appeal of strippers (male or female)

LynetteScavo · 09/05/2012 18:45

Weren't male strippers big in the 80's 90's? Hmm

I, personally never went to see male strippers and their willy waving (apart from once, by mistake, in London circa 1993)

Women used to get quite excited about it all, from what I remember. Men never seemed to comment.

I was invited to see some male willy waving when DC1 was 2 weeks old. I declined, against DH's advice. He thought if I didn't go, my friends would stop asking me to go out. So obviously he has no objections to me viewing such things.

ledkr · 09/05/2012 18:51

I was tricked into seeing the chippendales years ago,I just felt embarassed for them tbh. One of the routines they werer wearing socks and a shirt which I think is the worse most unsexy thing a bloke can wear.

I think there is a big difference in current male strippers and some female ones.Bil went to one the other week and a woman actually wanked off a bloke on stage! His table were all like this Hmm Hmm and Confused how vile and embarassing.

I wouldn't mind Ryan Gosling and Mark Wahlberg doing the helicopter dance in my face. Grin If that's what you're offering I'll be there with bells on. Grin

RobinSparkles · 09/05/2012 18:59

I remember my sister having a Chippendales calendar in her bedroom when she was a teenager!

Bleurgh!

bewitchedandbewildered · 09/05/2012 19:03

Male strippers were popular in the late 80s early 90s (as LS has already pointed out). They were a giggle. Drag queen clubs can be good fun. Kiss o grams were tacky but funny. And I've always wanted to be at a party where a girl bursts out of a cake, but never have and I don't think they do that anymore. Remember mud fighting? What about doing MM mud fights OP? That would be interesting. Variety is the spice of life.

tethersend · 09/05/2012 19:10

"personally i would have no problem in him going, might even want to join him and have a nosey!!"

A nosey? Do you have to pay extra for that? Sounds filthy.

ledkr · 09/05/2012 20:00

trying to imagine what a nosey is Hmm

"...Not for strippers but for intelligent men who like a chat and can make a good cuppa. I am also going to scout for back ticklers too."

Cake! Don't forget cake baking skills.

Didn't there used to be womens clubs, like the men's ones in London? A modern version of that would be great but without the snobby entrance rules and chatty men.

catgirl1976 · 10/05/2012 07:58

There's one in a town near me. It's not a new idea and I am not aware of any outcry from anyone. This does exist - not sure why you think it doesn't

ScarlettAlexandra · 10/05/2012 07:59

i think there's a male strip club in the gay quarter of birmingham its clearly aimed at other men though Hmm

can't see it taking off for women though, i myself would rather have a cuppa.

catgirl1976 · 10/05/2012 08:04

Google "Male Lap Dancing Club" - there are a fair few. And not just for gay men.

Not my thing at all but they exist already.

Birdsgottafly · 10/05/2012 08:25

"Bil went to one the other week and a woman actually wanked off a bloke on stage!"

That's a sex show, strictly speaking, not a strip show. Just like to be a real pole dance, a good proprtion of the time has to be spent on the pole.

Tbf, the difference is that women's bodies are beautiful, most men's aren't.

It's a shame that pole dancing ever got mixed up with the sex industry, it's amazing to watch.

I've seen these live, they are hot.

GetTheeToANunnery · 10/05/2012 08:26

I can't see it ever being as popular as a female strip club. It's horribly sexist to say but I think there are more men that don't mind cheap grubby girls gyrating around on them, most women have a bit more taste and higher standards.

catgirl1976 · 10/05/2012 08:32

I have to agree with birds that a big difference is women's bodies are just much more asthetically pleasing than mens on the whole

(although I also would sell my granny for a night in the club with Alexsander Skaarsgard reclining semi naked and holding an intellegent conversation) :)

doublechocchip · 10/05/2012 09:35

I went to one for a friends 21st, they did a more acrobatic style of dance rather than the whole grinding thing although I remember it being on the whole hilarious!

The majority of the men were very good looking and I had a dance from the 'sailor'. Was interesting going to one not sure I'd go again!

ledkr · 10/05/2012 14:18

Birds I agree with the pole dancers. I saw a competition in a local club a few years back and i was amazed so gracefull and beautiful.I used to dance and they are on par with ballet dancers imho.

My friend has a ballet company called ballet boys, google them, now that is male beauty. Oh yes and ballet torsion too.
