To start a male lap dancing club?

I just wondered how the males who frequent these type of esablishments would take to knowing their dps were in there paying family money on some guy waving his todger in her face? I suspect the cries of

"Its harmless girly fun, everyone does it"
or
"I dont want to go but all my mates went and i didnt want to look stupid!"Wouldnt be quite as meaningfull if the boot were on t'other foot.

Dyou know what? I have read the term female supremacists 3 times in one day.

You don't come across it that often.

niceguy2 · 09/05/2012 15:00

Sorry but it wouldn't bother me if my fiancee went. Well, let me rephrase.

It wouldn't bother me if she went as part of a night out with the girls say for example on a hen night. Just so long as the same rule applies in so far as it's look but no touching rule which is the same in a reputable female lap dancing bar.

It would however bother me if she regularly went on her own. That would just be odd.

ItsAPublicForumWhine · 09/05/2012 15:01

but...but..WHAT is a "female supremacist"??

Megatron · 09/05/2012 15:02

I was just about to ask that public.

FoofyShmooffer · 09/05/2012 15:02

Oh and no. Please don't. The very idea of a wagging all over the place. Unsnap pealing.

kerala · 09/05/2012 15:03

Would just give ammunition to the anti feminists sadly - look at the oft cited Dreamboys/Chippendales being used to justify the millions of grim lap dancing clubs there are.

FoofyShmooffer · 09/05/2012 15:03

public not the foggiest.

OneHandFlapping · 09/05/2012 15:06

As long as Alexander Skargaard gets his keks off when I stick a £20 in his waistband I'll be there on your opening night!

FuckingThorDaddyman · 09/05/2012 15:08

Confused at flatpack's obsession with female supremacists. Every time I see that nn it's the same thing...

Set one up. Why not. It'd be good for young men who want to become strippers to have somewhere to work!

I've been to a strip club once (yes, once) and it was so un-sexy it's ridiculous. I had to stop myself from laughing out loud while a girl was dancing at our table!

fridakahlo · 09/05/2012 15:09

But the erudite conversation with a handsome man sounds appealing.
Perhaps lots of chaise longes, a library, handsome young men wandering around dispensing drinks, offering foot massages, playing delicate music to delight your senses with and perhaps the occasional ballet routine added into the mix?
Anyone down with that?

tethersend · 09/05/2012 15:11

If you could just oppress men for centuries first, I think it could work...

ALthough kerala is right, it would be an instant justification of objectification, handed to, er... 'male supremacists' (is that what we're saying now?) on a plate. By a topless waitress.

AbsofAwesomeness · 09/05/2012 15:30

I prefer the other ideas being floated. Grim men stripping and waving their bits about is NOT appealing, but say getting to sit on Jake Gyllenhaals nekkid lap while he feeds me grapes and we discuss War and Peace or whatever the hell I want sounds endlessly appealing. It should also have good cocktails. And decent music. And comfy chairs.

AbsofAwesomeness · 09/05/2012 15:31

Oh yes, and the occassional ballet routine. With Carlos Acosta. Nice.

AbsofAwesomeness · 09/05/2012 15:31

Or a reenactment of the Tango Scene from Scent of A Woman would be awesome.

HappyHubbie · 09/05/2012 15:33

I'd feel exactly the same if she spent hard-earned family money on going to see Take That or the ballet (both of which, I understand, feature semi-naked men, sometimes in tights). I'd say 'have a good time' whilst thinking 'thank fuck I don't have to go with her'.

axure · 09/05/2012 15:37

I had a drunken rant about this a few weeks ago, convinced I'd spotted a gap in the market I was planning to open a chain of male lap dancing clubs called"Knobs Out" to cater for hen parties.

minimisschief · 09/05/2012 15:41

i wouldn't see a problem with it personally. You are aware that men do this already and they are called strippers.

WorraLiberty · 09/05/2012 15:42

Many Lapdancing clubs already have Ladies' Nights

RobinSparkles · 09/05/2012 15:50

I knew this would be you Ledkr! :o

I know that some places have "Ladies Nights" but I can never imagine any women getting turned on by it. I'm not saying that they're wrong if they do but I can't imagine anything worse than having some oiled up Peter Andre lookalike girating his...thing at me!

tethersend · 09/05/2012 16:40

"Or a reenactment of the Tango Scene from Scent of A Woman would be awesome."

I skim-read this as 'the scene from Last Tango in Paris' Grin

MrMeaner · 09/05/2012 17:09

Can't think of any reason to get upset about it at all... No problem whatsoever.
I suspect if there was much of a market, however, there'd already be plenty...

ledkr · 09/05/2012 17:27

Well thats it,im going to start auditions soon.

Not for strippers but for intelligent men who like a chat and can make a good cuppa. I am also going to scout for back ticklers too.

Form an orderly line here menz Grin

Yuck, I'm afraid I haven't read any of the responses or even the OP, but the title made me think of sitting in a nice club with a nice glass of wine and my friends and some random nude bloke coming over and dangling his horrible, hairy bollocks over me. Makes me want to puke.

Will read thread now.

Callisto · 09/05/2012 17:33

And Benedict Cumberwhatsis would give me the same reaction fully clothed.

ledkr · 09/05/2012 17:45

Callisto Put your tongue firmly in your cheek when you read the thread Grin
