Genuine question how was it trafficking? Passing them around and abusing them was hideous enough but I though trafficking was transporting and slavery between countries??

Thank you sashh. I should have thought of that having been on a jury where we only heard after we found the defendant guilty that he was up for further charges. Absolutely we would have been unlikely to not use these other charges as a black mark against him. As it was we all felt after we heard that they proved we reached the right verdict!

Sashh not within all the community sorry but they will probably face the full brunt, the religion is strict and that includes sex outside of marriage, abuse etc. I would think their children will be ostracised and they will all face an outcasting and loss of status. Which actually I also disagree with as it isn't their wives and children that have done this and its them that will suffer.

I just hope that prisoners give him the level of punishment he deserves. I feel that if rapists are deemed a risk they should be kept in jail longer. It is an ethical issue deporting him to a country where there are fewer resources to police him.

They should bring back chain gangs and hard labour for the worst offenders, rapists, murderers etc. They should have to earn their food and medical treatment, if they aren't willing/able to work they get neither of these, if they die behind bars good riddance, these animals aren't fit to be part of society and should never be allowed on the streets again.

I don't know many Pakistanis but those Afghans I'm friends with lead me to believe that the families of these men will be totally ostracised.

Noone will want their children to marry into families that have members capable of this level of depravity. Simple social occasions will see family members excluded from any hope of an invitation lest the host be seen as tainted. This is the kind of crime that will taint the reputation of the offender's family for generations.

I used to live in an area with a lot of Muslims when I was in college and was told several times by Muslim men that they knew some people in their community felt that they did not have to treat white women and girls with respect when they dressed like whores and sluts (and this didn't necessarily mean what you might think of, but wearing a fairly modest sundress counted for instance)

I think it was trafficking because taxi drivers were driving young girls specifically for the purpose.

I don't see why they couldn't charge them for a whole host of things to get bigger sentences. How about supplying drugs and alcohol to minors for instance.

I thought the 19 years was alright but some of the others seemed to get off very lightly.

TBH though, I think that the death penalty would be kinder than life-long sentences. Some people do commit horrific crimes but to be condemned to a life without hope seems to be very cruel. I can't imagine how a person could stay sane in that circumstance.

its horrific. I read the sentences thinking how these girls were systematically raped by many men over a long period of time, and the harm done to them is that which they will never ever recover from and feeling horror that some of these men got as little as 4 years for their role. And lots of concurrent sentences, which is also shocking.

But, as already said, it is actually quite long for this country. It needs to e changed.

The solicitors statement tells me everything I need to know about just how long it will take them to even comprehend the devastating impact on their victims of their satanic actions.

I do have a couple of questions:-

1/ What noone has ever explained to me about our legal system is why crimes against property seem to be more severely punished than crimes against the person? Why do you get a lower sentence for gang rape & trafficking than for robbing a bank? I keep reading about what seem to me to be very low sentences for rape and peadophilia & it's wrong.

2/ Some of the girls involved were in the care of the local authority. How on earth were these monsters allowed to gain access to these vunerable youngsters? Teenagers in care are another topic I keep reading about in terms of their seeming vulnerability to predators - is there anything society can do to ensure they are better protected?

Asian men in general DO NOT abuse and rape children, they DO NOT think all White women are whores and sluts and believe me those "Muslim women who do as they are told" are a rare breed, I know plenty and wouldn't be quite so sure about their compliance!

These men used the westernisation of children an excuse for horrific crimes, White men use other excuses, women yet more. That's all they are fucking excuses for disgusting behaviour it does not in any way reflect a cultural trend.

Oh and "honour killings are rife" there are around 12 per year compare that to the population and to the numbers of child killings, domestic violence killings not labelled by the baying scandal hungry media as honour killings I would hardly think the word rife is appropriate.

I think 19 years is a lot considering the pathetic sentences that other rapists get. However, I don't actually think that it is 'playing the race card' when a person of one race is being tried for the abuse of a person of another race and every person on the jury is the race of the victim. If I was accused of killing a Black person and was tried by an entirely Black jury I might think this had some bearing on my trial.

BTW I am not saying that they weren't guilty as sin and I hope they stay in jail for the whole 19 years.
