To think that DH should take dd to school in the morning

regardless of what time he gets back tonight.

He is out, work-related. No problem. I have no idea what time he'll be back. Have texted him, but he'll have his phone switched to silent and he's rubbish at checking it when busy, so I don't think he's seen it.

I normally take dd to school in the mornings, and he would be expecting to have a lie in - he doesn't need to work. But I am ill - sore throat, high temperature & achey, fluey feeling.

He might not be back for a couple of hours yet, but I desperately want to rest! WIBU to ask him to do the school run regardless of when he gets home?

Personally I think yes.

It's not like he's out with his mates on the piss...this is work related stuff.

If you're really ill then YANBU

But if you can get up, get the kids to school and flop back into bed for the rest of the day then YABU really.

imnotmymum · 09/05/2012 00:38

If you want to rest get off mumsnet and go to sleep.

Teeb · 09/05/2012 00:40

Agree with imnotmymum. It's half past midnight!

Krumbum · 09/05/2012 00:46

Yanbu if he's not working and your ill then he should want to do that for you.

Thumbwitch · 09/05/2012 00:47

Leave a note on his pillow and go to sleep. And YANBU to ask him, no.

Jinsei · 09/05/2012 00:56

I can't sleep. Have tried. I'm in bed now but can't stop coughing. :(

I realise DH is out for work & not down the pub, that's why I'm asking. I don't mind him being late in the slightest. But I feel shit. If and when I finally get off to sleep, it would be nice to think I could wake up on my own schedule.

If I have to get dd up and out for school in the morning, I will also feel obliged to go to work, and I really don't feel well enough. I am very rarely ill, but don't like going in with a fever in case I pass it round.

Leave the note anyway in case you do manage to drop off, and if you're awake when he gets back, ask him.
If you're that unwell I'm sure everyone at the school would prefer it if you didn't drop your DD off as well!

Jinsei · 09/05/2012 01:03

Think I'll do that thumbwitch. Going to try again to get some rest. Night all.

Yes you can only ask.

Night, hope you feel better soon.

DaenerysTargaryen · 09/05/2012 01:15

Oh definitely not bu, being ill trumps working, working when you feel well is no problem, especially if he has day off tomorrow, he will be tired but not ILL and tired.

Hope you get some rest op, I have an 8 mnth old with a cough, I won't be getting any sleep!
