I am not British, but certainly since I have lived here by April my heating has been off and I have had it off until at least October. But this year most evenings i give in and put the heating on. I am staring to wonder if it will ever be completely off!!! Is it just me!!??

Mine's on. It's cold.

Geranium3 · 07/05/2012 21:53

squeakytoy · 07/05/2012 21:53

We have had ours on, or the fire, for the last month.... YADNBU

carols9995 · 07/05/2012 21:53

Mine's on sometimes and I don't feel cold much.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 07/05/2012 21:54

[childish giggling at having it off until October] Grin

dexter73 · 07/05/2012 21:54

Ours is on and we still have our winter duvet duvet on the bed. It has been freezing here.

Changethatbulb · 07/05/2012 21:55

Nope. Not just you. I'm British and a tightwad but I've still had my fire or heating on most days.

Dreading the gas/leccy bill. Sad

sharenicely · 07/05/2012 21:55

Mines on during the day as well, too cold just to have it on in the evening.

PorkyandBess · 07/05/2012 21:55

Our has been on since September/October. I don't do cold.

Hooleywhipper · 07/05/2012 21:57

Oh god no,mine on too.

Mothership1 · 07/05/2012 22:01

Mines on ....... Until about 10 mins before the DP gets home!! Grin

CrispyCod · 07/05/2012 22:03

Mine's on too, bloody freezing. In fact this room is freezing all year round, a blessing when it's hot outside actually.

Notcontent · 07/05/2012 22:07

That's good - feeling a bit better now!

Honestly, it's ridiculous isn't it. I have a direct debit for my gas, and in the past my winter gas usage was evened out by my lack of use in the summer. That's unlikely to happen this time round.

We havent turned ours off since before christmas. Ours is mainly used to dry our laundry as its so wet outside.

chipmunksex · 07/05/2012 22:12

night night

Christelle2207 · 07/05/2012 22:51

Yadnbu. I cranked ours up a few days ago.

maras2 · 07/05/2012 23:01

Mine's on and flipping well staying on.We've only recently had our heating system renewed after 28 years of storage heaters.I blooming well love it.It's lashing it down here in the West Midlands, and my outdoor thermometer reads 8 degrees so stuff the gas bill for now.

poocatcherchampion · 07/05/2012 23:02

Phew! I've been using the baby as justification..

NettoSuperstar · 07/05/2012 23:04

I put the heating on if I'm cold, no matter what the calendar says.
I have it up full blast in June, or all the windows open in December.

I hate being cold

toofattorun · 07/05/2012 23:07

Ours has not been off since last August...

wonderstuff · 07/05/2012 23:12

Mines on - I hate being cold. Actually when the winter was milder I was thinking that I would spend less this year - didn't factor in winter lasting until well into May.

Mummy2FE · 07/05/2012 23:18

Got back from a weekend away and had the heating off for 2 nights; cue heating now back on, mn'ing in bath robe in bed and my feet resting on a hot water bottle.

It's so so cold!

Goofymum · 07/05/2012 23:23

Me and DH have rediscovered our hot water bottles over the last few nights. How sad! But am liking the idea of having it off until October.......sounds like that will generate more heat Wink

Tiggles · 07/05/2012 23:30

We have ours on intermittently at the moment, mainly as it is still snowing on and off. So YANBU (unless you are living in some hot sunny part of Britain somewhere, rather than up a cold mountain Grin)

Katiekitty · 07/05/2012 23:35

Not a wimp at all. At. All.

It's freezing here (Notts) and it's a torrential downpour too right now.

I've had the heating on for the bulk of the day. It's been off about four hours now and you can feel the chill.

Am also dreading the bill.

Hot water bottle on standby!
