Sadly, the pavements in our neighbourhood are rife with dog poo. Not nice at the best of times, but when pushchair wheels get coated in it and I then have to wheel my pushchair through the lounge to store it in the kitchen, I do my utmost to avoid dog poo at all costs.
Why then does my MIL always manage to get poo on the wheels whenever she takes DD out? I've specifically asked her to watch out for it because I really don't want dog poo in my house (or even just on the pushchair!), it grosses me out! You'd think now that DD is rolling around on the floor and picking up every bit of fluff & dirt & putting straight in her mouth she'd see my point, but she thinks I'm over-reacting because (unlike her) I'm not from a doggy family, never owned a dog. She's a bit ditzy and never pays any attention to details like this esp as she goes into 'proud grandparent mode' when she goes for walks with DD, parading her about town. I've also asked her to check the wheels before coming into the house but she doesn't. Do I keep asking or do I just continue to grit teeth, take a deep breath, plug nose, try not to dry wretch and clean the wheels?
