DS is doing some very frustrating lego which requires tears every 5 mins
DD tantrummed because I wanted to help wipe her bum and wash her hands
DS keeps wriggling around and saying he's "trying to stertch his bum out"
Hmm

Go to YouTube and search for "Go the Fuck to Sleep" read by Samuel L Jackson.

Clever use of the f-word at it's best.

StealthPolarBear · 03/05/2012 18:47

ooh will do that later when they're in bed :o

I have sent mine to read in bed. I am now making my own dinner, which I shall not share, no not even a nibble.

MrsSnaplegs · 03/05/2012 19:00

NagooIsBuildingAnArk · 03/05/2012 19:13

At least there is a plan in place then. It's not like the dead time at 4.30...

FeakAndWeeble · 03/05/2012 19:23

Go the fuck to sleep is written for my dd, I swear, the author MUST have met her and heard my inner monologue of desperation.

I hate bedtime, its shit every night no matter what I do.

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 03/05/2012 20:40

Once I got past the non sleeping baby years, I grew to love this poem - it resonated!

If You'll Just Go to Sleep
by Gabriel Mistral

The blood red rose
I gathered yesterday,
and the fire and cinnamon
of the carnation,

Bread baked with
anise seed and honey,
and a fish in a bowl
that makes a glow:

All this is yours,
baby born of woman,
if you'll just
go to sleep.

A rose, I say!
I say a carnation!
Fruit, I say!
And I say honey!

A fish that glitters!
And more, I say -
If you will only
sleep till day.

Just hiding in the bedroom ("feeding" DD) from DS, who withstood all the blandishments of protective duvet, protective stars, 3 stories and counting to 150. Little bugger.
