WTF do Hipp mean by social implications?

Both methods of feeding a baby are acceptable so fuck off with the whole acting like ff is poison! my dd is perfectly fine but i hate this constant making me feel like a failure because i failed to bf although i tried so so hard!

Waaaahaaahaaa. Grin

I could use one of those

entropygirl · 09/05/2012 21:34

Whoa! WTAF I am STILL be accused of having the maths wrong???

Tescos lemon curd is 300kcal per 100g and comes in 411g pots. That makes 1233 kcal per pot.

A pot cost 22p.

22/1233 = 0.017 pence/kcal. This is true

Now there are 1000 cal in a kcal. But when people say, for instance, you need an extra 500 calories when BF (which is of course bollock but hey ho) they mean kcals.

So are we al clear now?

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 09/05/2012 21:53

Lemon curd costs 22p?? That's a bargain! I thought it was about £1?

SodoffBaldrick · 09/05/2012 22:18

Being in the opposite time zone to you guys I am just coming back to this now after a good night's sleep.

I was going to let this / / comment lie...

"I think its shows where this discussion is headed that the Pro BF best line of defence now is that "we don't know where all this is going" after 150 years of experience."

...because it looked like the thread had finally died a death and I didn't want to resurrect it, zombie-like, yet again. Grin But given that it has resurrected itself anyway, I'll chip in.

My question, 20 pages on from the start was just that - a question. Hardly the 'pro-BF best line of defence'. Can't quite believe that needs spelling out, but apparently it does. Though I'd expect nothing less from a 'conspiracy-theorist-they're-all-keeping-quiet-for-fear-of-their-jobs ' type. Grin

entropygirl · 09/05/2012 22:20

btw whatme there is NO definition of calorie that 1000 times bigger than a kcal. So multiplying anything by 1000 was TOTALLY BOGUS.

There is 1 kcal = 1000 cal (science definition)
and 1 kcal = 1 (food/colloquial) calorie

So, if you were to eat all your daily calories (~2000) in tesco value lemon curd you would need 1.6 pots and it would cost you 36 pence.

pickles35 · 09/05/2012 22:26

I know whats going on here, everyone is after the Last Words the Winner title.

We have clearly proven that breastfeeding a child on a balcony relying only on lemon curd to stick it to a balcony in the case of an accident is very very wrong.

SodoffBaldrick · 09/05/2012 22:28

I think there's potentially another 16 posts before it's full - the race is on for the final word!

entropygirl · 09/05/2012 22:33

Oh wait my mistake...whatme has in fact created a new unit...the kcalorie...which should of course have been written as kCalorie as the convention is to use a capital C when you talk about food/colloquial Calories...

I was (oh how very stupid of me) using kcals (the unit you will see on EVERY SINGLE ITEM OF FOOD IN THE COUNTRY).

I think it is clear who is being mischievous/stupid here.

So yes a whatme special kCalorie would in fact cost 17 pence and of course you only need to eat 2 of the feckers per day.....
