That forums are my primary means of communication

Whilst globalisation has indeed brought the world closer, and given us the ability to be the good samaritan to strangers.

Am I being unreasonable to think that whilst bringing the world closer, the use of technical communications undermines the old fashioned interpersonal skills we often take for granted.

I for one find it far easier to talk to someone over the Internet that perhaps a face to face chat.

I'd be fucked if I had to make a phonecall to a company so

YANBU

If I hadn't had the internet and various forums over the last few years, I would have lost my mind.

My best friend is a woman I met on an internet forum over 5 years ago. We've never met as she lives halfway across the world but we e-mail, Skype, and chat. She knows me inside out and I can tell her anything. She's been a lifesaver (which is more than I can say about my RL 'friends' when I was going through a tough time).

I love internet communication too. You don't have to put a false/brave/cheerful face on if you don't want to and if you get fed up you just switch it off

YANBU. I love forums, me.

It is certainly easier to be blunt and forthright and say what you actually mean via the internet.

If only I had this many balls in real life! Grin

my son is one that needed holding for naps and sleep at one point and now cosleeps for naps and nighttime sleep so I am next to him in a half dark room A LOT - can't phone etc, no tv - thank goodness for forums, laptops and tablets (now have a tablet but used a laptop before) - they are a lifesaver - I never touched forums until my miscarriage and got so much support that I carried on through my pregnancy with ds and the last 15mths - now I can ttc, get bfn, bfp, talk about dc and rofl - have learnt a whole new language too!
