Duran Duran, Snow Patrol, Paolo Nuttini, Stereophonics...cant see any women in these bands...what a terrible message to send out to the world.

no female performers in this line up?

There are definitley some female artists. I read that Jessie J is perfoming and there are others but I cannot remember off the top of my head. I will search for the article.

Shouldn't they have people we've heard of? Or am I just incredibly old gimmer out of touch? I've heard the names of Snow patrol and Paolo thing, but none of their music. Or a male voice choir for wales and a pipe band for scotland if it's supposed to be representing the countries.
Why can't they ask Susan Boyle or Katherine Jenkins? - or even Charlotte Church! any of them could sing the National Anthem or an Olympic song or something beautifully. It's all a bit "precious" Confused it'll be like that bloody millennium dome fiasco all over again, the lovvies will give the only shit to be given, the poor queen will pretend to know what's she's doing there and smile bravely, and the BBC will fawn. Everyone else will go about their business as usual except the poor sods who live in london who won't be able to so much as blink without an anti-terrorist bod in a mask leaping out from behind a lampost demanding ID...

Oh actually, maybe that was the Golden Jubilee concert. Either way, I can't find the article!

AKMD · 01/05/2012 10:11

YABU because that isn't the full line-up.

cantspel · 01/05/2012 10:19

They do represent the whole country

Duran Duran representing England and Snow Patrol appearing for Northern Ireland.

Stereophonics will represent Wales and Paolo Nutini will play for Scotland.

It is a concert in hyde park not the opening cermony at the games themselves.
