to want to get my nipples pierced

I have, since a teenager, hankered after pierced nipples. I never had the nerve. DC s and BF scuppered any thoughts along those lines. DH is intrigued rather than enthusiastic.Now I am 37 the yearning is still there. Should I? Is this an early mid life crisis that I'll get over? I don't have other piercings apart from ear lobes.

tb you talk to your 14 year old about clitoral piercing? I My 13 yr old goes red and giggles if I mention pubic hair!

MrsMuddy I am still prevaricating. I want to do it but I am shit scared.

A friend sat me down and had me watch Youtube videos of it being done not the nasty ones by college students but decent ones by tattooed piercer types. I think it will be like getting a jab or giving blood?

I know you are right about being like a jab, once I'm in I'll be brave. YouTube never occurred to me because of the nudity rule.

My god there is a mad woman on youtube getting her shoulders skewered, then being swung around on ropes attached to the skewers (butchers hooks). If she can do that then I can get my nipple done. Appointment on Saturday.

I think I may have found the video, normal-looking lady except for the meat hooks in her shoulders? I have waaay too much time on my hands, clearly, if I'm seeking that sort of thing out

I would avoid a bra that day. They will put a dressing/s on them, but you won't want anything tight on them.

not to be a scaremonger but I had it done and it was there for two years, quite happily. I knocked it one day on a stepladder (oh, the glamour!) and thought nothing of it. Three days later I started to come down with flu like symptoms - the nipple itself looked fine btw, combined with a very achey armpit. To cut a very long story short, I ended up with septicaemia (in which I went temporarily blind and nearly died) and took several weeks and a lot of antibiotics to recover. This really did happen and I felt very very foolish that I had nearly died over something so stupid. Just to let you know that these things really can happen and worth knowing the risks I think!

It hurts (not for a while but an incredibly long time, possibly forever)
It shows under thin bra & shirt
It gets caught in lace bras
Pierced nipple grows significantly, even monstrously, compared to the other

I would love my nipples done but im wary of the pain.Had my clit hood pierced that didnt hurt so maybe the same for the nipples.
Love getting tattoos so maybe concentrate on that for a while.

I used to have a lot of piercings but I've kind of grown out of it now, so they are all gone. I have two tiny pale dots either side of the nipple as the only evidence that it was pierced.

Of course you might get it caught in something, but just be careful. Also moulded bras mean that it won't show under your clothes.

I have seen the most horrendous breast abscess from one. whilst it was nice for me to drain, it was agony for the woman. I have also seen a woman who a had the oddest bit of jewelery where her nipple rings were attached to each other by a length of chain. she caught it whilst doing shenanigans with her partner and it tore one out. I almost wept in sympathy (although she didn't seem that bothered)

Ow! I'm a runner though and can imagine the pain of pierced nipple rubbing up and down as I jog. Clitoral piercings sound like genital mutilation to me.
I love my body as it is. Adding metal bits wouldn't enhance it. I prefer to just tone it up a bit.

Well, I went ahead and did it yesterday!

Am quite happy with it so far as long as it doesn't develop a strange infection The pain is different from those associated with nursing, but manageable (on a similar level to that)

Just one, on the side of DH's preference. (figured it was only fair to give him that choice)

When we talked about piercings, he sounded thouroughly neutral, turns out it is more slightly against but not disgusted by this piercing genitials ARE a total turn off for him, apparently.

I am secretly hoping that when it heals up, he'll encourage me to do the other one, too :o

I have had it done. It hurt, but no more than expected. Now for the salt bathing and waiting.
