AIBU to stay here and pretend I don't know they're here?

I'm in bed with the mother of all headaches. It came on me yesterday eve and has not gone away despite 12 hours sleep and lots of painkillers.

Ive stayed in the bedroom most of the day as its the darkest room and it's so sunny out its hurting my eyes.

Anyhoo just heard Mils voice coming from the kitchen. Her and FIL have come to visit. They are lovely but I look like hell and can't be arsed with small talk.
AIBU to stay here and not let on I know they are here?

YANBU.

Hopefully your OH will tell them you're ill and that you need to be left alone.

I would stay put and play dumb! You never heard them!!

BlueRinse · 29/04/2012 16:38

I would pretend to be asleep.

I can't be arsed with small talk when I feel poorly.

Hope you start to feel better once they have gone soon.

makinglemonade · 29/04/2012 16:43

Thank you! I will stay where I am. DH is quite good and closed the kitchen door so I assume he mentioned I was ill.

Just hope my own patents don't feel the need to visit. They normally go for a Sunday drive when it's sunny and it somehow always ends up near my house!

Poor you, stay put and pretend you don't know they're there.
But Envy at the 'so sunny', I haven't seen the sun in weeks, are you in the UK?

SerendipitousHarlot · 29/04/2012 16:53

Hope you feel better soon - for the record, I would have done exactly what you did.

But where are you that it's so sunny that it hurts your eyes?? As far as I was aware, the whole UK is hit with torrential rain today.

CremeEggThief · 29/04/2012 16:54

Stay where you are and if anyone tries to come in, pretend to be asleep. I really hope you start feeling better soon.

I was wondering where you are too, as it's so dreadful here today, and by the look of last night's forecast, it looked as if it would be awful for most of England and Wales.

TalcAndTurnips · 29/04/2012 17:12

Hope you feel better soon, lemonade Thanks

You made me smile with the mention of a 'Sunday drive' - it seems such a thing of the past now.

My father (who is in his eighties) has always had a bizarre theory that men that go for Sunday drives with their good lady wives will inevitably have sticky-out ears.

Is this true?

He also reckons that they tend to drive cars of this shade - and seeing as he hasn't updated his theory in the light of new evidence for about 40 years, I suspect him to be hopelessly wrong.

Herrena · 29/04/2012 17:47

Stay in bed! Hope you feel better soon....

makinglemonade · 29/04/2012 18:08

I actually did fall asleep so wasn't 'pretending' in the end! They have gone now.

For those of you -Envy ing- asking where I am - northern Ireland! We haven't had as much rain as you this week. It's really cold and windy but the sun has been out yesterday and today. This just makes me feel worse for laying in bed all day.

talc you made me laugh with that. My dads ears are normal I think and his car is a boring silver shade. He's relatively new to Sunday drive as he only learned to drive in recent years.
He made me Blush when he announced over a family dinner that he and mum love nothing more than a drive to a scenic spot and 'park up' to admire the view!
DH almost spat out his dinner at the thought of what we used to do when we parked up many moons ago!

Thanks for the well wishes and distracting me :)

Isn'tit great that we're not getting the rain ML? Unfortunately we won't get any of the sun either Sad

makinglemonade · 29/04/2012 18:18

coco I know, it's funny how the weather is so different and we are so close in distance. It's crap that we don't get proper summer sun but in weeks like this its just great not to have all the rain :)
