To not make a meal if everyone is stuffing their face 10 mins before I start cooking?

I cook under duress and I'm NOT cooking if they are all eating big fat cream cakes and then won't eat what I've cooked because they'll lose their appetite.

Who are these people? Sound like right pigs!

Pandemoniaa · 27/04/2012 18:24

Fair enough. Who authorised this cream cakefest though?

ImperialBlether · 27/04/2012 18:24

That's one of my biggest bugbears. Don't cook for them. How old are they? If they're hungry later, are they old enough to make a slice of toast?

DH & DS1.

It's just bloody disrespectful, especially after I asked them not to eat it because I was going to cook Angry

a cream cake will not ruin someone's appetite. its just pudding in reverse

FruitPastillesForever · 27/04/2012 18:28

That is maddening Angry

My DDs, aged 10, will try to sneak sweets etc while I'm cooking. I've only had to turn the hob off and walk away twice. OH has a bit more sense, he will ask how long dinner is likely to be before assessing if he needs a sensible snack to tide him over before clearing his plate.

Cream cakes go into your pudding stomach and have no effect on your appetite for dinner... obviously.

Rhubarbgarden · 27/04/2012 19:43

YANBU. DH has a habit of snacking before we go out for dinner then whining in the restaurant that he's not hungry. Angry
