I'm missing louis ffs.

Anyway. We get powercuts about 3 times a week. Mostly overnight. Often during the evening.

Today it is flicking.

On off on off on off.

i'm fairly sure it can't be good for electric things and the computery things.

How often is normal? Should i complain to someone?

I am not unreasonable. It is chuffing 2012 and i live in a civilised and supposedly advanced country. I pay 14 billion pounds for my electricity. I do not want my supply to keep fluckering and going off for hours.

You need stronger drugs.

DameHermione · 26/04/2012 22:04

I'm alergic to most the good stuff. But what has that to do with my shit electrics?

Buy a generator - guarantee that the elec will never go off again :)

OldGreyWiffleTest · 26/04/2012 22:43

You have my sympathy, OP. We live in a village with no gas, so all electric. I refuse to give up my calor gas cooker for an electric one because of all our power cuts - at least I can boil water for a cuppa!

LittlePicnic · 26/04/2012 22:52

OP- where do you live? We had the same problem, it went off the day we had lots of snow. The sub- power station couldn't cope with the increased demand. I kept emailing our local M.P. ( despite me hating his party) and the company have fitted a new generator a couple of months ago. Fingers crossed no problems since then! I could t believe it either. One time the power was off so long I had to throw away a number of pouches of breast milk I'd had frozen. That upset me.

DameHermione · 27/04/2012 06:46

See after flicking all evening it then went off for hours. Leaving me with no broadband. And the 3g coverag3 is crap here too.

Don't even live in the sticks or a village.

I shall complain to everyone. Including the electric bods and the pm.

is this happening everywhere? We don't get them here (cheshire)

carabos · 27/04/2012 07:22

We had a massive one the other night. Half the town was out- street lighting, mobile phone masts, the lot.

blackeyedsusan · 27/04/2012 07:26

not normal. hope you can do something about it.

WhereYouLeftIt · 27/04/2012 10:57

"We get powercuts about 3 times a week."
That makes it sound like this has been going on for some time. Why haven't you complained to the electricity company already?

DameHermione · 27/04/2012 16:07

I haven't complained because i am too lazy and never think about it until it happens again.

My dh bought me one like this for my birthday, the broadband stuff is plugged into it and gives me an hour or two when the power goes off.

But you're right, regular power cuts aren't acceptable.
