To let DD and friends go for a pizza and cinema after school without getting changed

I'm sure I saw a thread on here a while ago about kids being out after school in uniform but I can't find it. My 14yr old daughter and her friends went out for a pizza and film straight from school to belatedly celebrate a birthday, is it unreasonable to have let them go without changing - needless to say they were well behaved but not particularly smartly dressed by the end of the evening

Why wouldn't they go out in their uniform?

It's fine.

Not a big deal.

Floggingmolly · 26/04/2012 23:10

What are you worried about?

wibble73 · 26/04/2012 23:13

I'm sure somebody mentioned that children are accountable to the school if they're in uniform and that schools don't like it because it can portray a 'bad image' if either the children are not well behaved and/or the uniform is not being worn as per school rules

As long as they aren't going on the rampage and "bringing the school into disrepute" I'm fairly sure there won't be any ramifications Smile

You have already stated that they were well behaved, so I do not understand your need to question.

wibble73 · 26/04/2012 23:32

It's me being paranoid I know; it's not so much that they'd be going on the rampage, more that they weren't wearing it as per school rules

Of course YABU.

Well, I can't see any problem with you "letting them", I'm just surprised they wanted to. My dcs would have taken clothes and got changed somewhere along the way.
