AIBU to hate websites with those annoying hidden words that you have to type in

I have just had 10 attempts to send a message to a company and gave up in the end. I cannot read them whatsoever. Is there any knack to being able to read them or am I just thick?

Usually there's a button to press to hear them IYSWIM.

YANBU. I sometimes need several attempts, I'm Dyslexic and find anything that's not a standard typeface hard to read.

yes, its fucking irritating, and a it´s self important. I mean, as a closet devourer of the daily hatemail, it´s soooo annoying when I want to add to the river of bile with my own witty comment on colleen´s heels or the kardashian´s bald patches. Can never be arsed to put in the "kaptcha", thereby depriving the world of my own wit. Tragic.

Thanks glad it's not just me. I tried the listen but it was just loads of words and I entered them and it was still wrong.

YANBU. Driveth me crazy. Once I had to pay a bill, and pass the exam that is writing in those gobbledygook letters. Incredibly frustrating. I just couldn't get it right. Why the f have those stupid letters if you're looking to take my money? Make it easier on yourselves, bill people!

They're usually case sensitive, if that helps at all?

I struggle with them too - I'm actually feeling quite relieved that there are a few of us! Anyone I have mentioned this too IRL has just at me!

I'm so glad it isn't just me . I can never read them, and can never understand the spoken one either when I've tried that.

They fuck me right off, I don't think I've ever managed to get one the first time of trying, and manys the time I've had to throw in the towel.

I can't do them either Why do they have to make them so hard to make out. Why can't they just show the jumbled letters in normal text instead of all squashed and higgledy piggledy? I'm sure there must be a good technical reason for it, but they baffle me every time and I often end up giving up.

But if you're running a website, it does help to weed out some of the spam-bot memberships.

I have to get my DP to read them, for some reason he can get them right first go.

Mind you I also struggle with child-proof lids....

Thank goodness I thought I was the only one who struggle with these. For some reason DH is a lot better at reading them than I am. Could it be a male brain/female brain thing?

Even worse it's usually right after you've had to input your email adress TWICE. And then when you're ready to submit all the annoying information there will always be one random tiny check box or something that you missed that will then wipe your credit card number or whatever out and you'll have to do the whole ridiculous rigmarole again ARGHH
