should be just that. not for any one else.

i don't even care that they are not by the door but having the extra space at the side is a safety issue especially when your like me and have two little ones and have to strap one in while the other is in a buggy or trolley. i have list count if the amount of times i have seen people (usually the elderly with no blue badge) using them.

gets my goat.

Hooray.

Sirzy · 23/04/2012 14:10

I couldn't care less who uses them. If one is free I will use it if not then I park at the back of the carpark and manage just fine.

2ombie5layer · 23/04/2012 14:11

Biscuit's all round for everybody to have a munch on while watching this thread all unfold.

ivykaty44 · 23/04/2012 14:11

have been done to death on here, if you go back through the archive you can find one per month on parents and baby spaces at the supermarket car park.

Why not go and have a look and get everyones views?

2ombie5layer · 23/04/2012 14:12

Oh and a Brew too or a Wine if prefered

freddy05 · 23/04/2012 14:12

I had a disabled women ask me to move and park somewhere else so she could have the parent and child space as there were no disabled spaces. Fool that I am I moved but getting three kids out of a car safely and across a car park was not the easiest thing in the world!!

bugs me too.

saintlyjimjams · 23/04/2012 14:13

How dare those elderly park close to the shop rather than wobble their way painfully across the car park, or break their hips squeezing out of a small gap.

Honestly OP it's not that hard to get 2 kids with no additional needs across a car park. I suspect you manage it in places where they don't have P&T spots.

grobagsforever · 23/04/2012 14:13

I don't understand why anyone in their right mind goes to the supermarket with small children. Online shopping For The Win.

NurseJennyLee · 23/04/2012 14:13

Oh gosh yes I totally agree, I would kill with a stick my rheumatoid arthritis riddled wheelchair bound old nana before I let her use one of those spaces. What has she done that's useful or special in the last twenty something years? Not like she's pushed a baby out of her chuff like me, my kidz'll melt in the rain if I have to walk them across a car park.

dexter73 · 23/04/2012 14:13

Have you never been on Mumsnet before??!!Grin

Bluebellsinseason · 23/04/2012 14:13

Freddy is your post serious?

ivykaty44 · 23/04/2012 14:14

There are 24 threads started abut parents and childs spaces since the start of this year alone, why not take a look instead of starting a new thread OP?

ABatInBunkFive · 23/04/2012 14:14

wow that moved rapidly into whinging about the disabled.

LadyBeagleEyes · 23/04/2012 14:15

Freddy05 was joking wasn't she?

peugotgringo · 23/04/2012 14:16

YABU, get over it. Park somewhere else. You are a parent, it's nothing new. Billions have been there and done it all before you and managed fine.
If you hate the smaller spaces, complain to the surpermarket.

StateofConfusion · 23/04/2012 14:16

oh its been a while.

fwiw people using p&t because theyre lazy bastards annoy me, people who are elderly have a blue badge i dont even notice, the spaces are for convienience for anyone who needs them. And if space opening doors is a huge issue go to the very back and park across two spaces (only done once, alone with four dcs and just got a people carrier was nervous)

2ombie5layer · 23/04/2012 14:17

grobags I dont like internet shopping and would rather take my small children with me to supermarket.

littlemslazybones · 23/04/2012 14:17
Grin You know, it doesn't bother me too much but that doesn't stop me going, "OH NO! You've left your baby in the supermarket!!", if I see this and I'm in a particularly stroppy mood.
freddy05 · 23/04/2012 14:17

you tried carrying triplets?

I moved didn't I?

strangely I thought I was allowed to be a bit put out having done the right thing anyway.

sorry
