should be just that. not for any one else.

i don't even care that they are not by the door but having the extra space at the side is a safety issue especially when your like me and have two little ones and have to strap one in while the other is in a buggy or trolley. i have list count if the amount of times i have seen people (usually the elderly with no blue badge) using them.

gets my goat.

if i dont have the space i have to leave one in oncomming traffic at the back or in an empty space where someone could pull in. as i said its not the best otherwise.

And more importantly, are you allowed to take your Dragon through the Mcdonald's drive thru?? Grin

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 23/04/2012 14:45

Ooh a dragon Dragon. Goody.

AvocadoAndFitch · 23/04/2012 14:45

scarlett how old are your DCs?

FrankWippery · 23/04/2012 14:45

Meh.

I don't care. I park in them. I don't park in them. I don't give a fuck. I have children, sometimes I only have my 18 year old with me and use them. Sometimes I only have my 3 year old with me and don't use them. And sometimes I have my Mum with me. I'm her child, therefore we can park there. She doesn't care either.

Has anyone won the bingo yet? I've not got my dabber with me today.

SeaHouses · 23/04/2012 14:46

I really do not understand. Why would you leave a child in oncoming traffic just because you were not in a P&C space?

Perhaps the reasons I do not understand are

a. I don't have a car. So I have always had to cross supermarket car parks with children.

b. When I went to the supermarket with somebody else in their car, our supermarket is a Co-op and has no P&C places.

So I really can't understand what the danger is or how it works.

ScarletteAlexendra This thread will grow very quickly so please call back soon and say something like "Oh I didn't realise, thanks" :)

With regard to your point that you see mainly the elderly with no blue badge - may I offer the following?
They may have a blue badge. You don't need to place any badge when parking in P&C spaces.
They may not have a blue badge but this does not mean that they do not have a disability. It is very difficult to get a blue badge. If a disability sets in that affects your mobility after retirement age then you are not entitled to DLA for mobility in the same way you would if you were younger. This makes qualifying for a blue badge very difficult.

If anyone is struggling with children (even triplets) when out shopping it is not the fault of any car park layout or any other shopper. You just need to organise and adapt your life - just get on with it; you are blessed with children.

The dragon will eat them obviously, kid nowadays are in danger wherever they turn. Shock

ScarlettAlexandra · 23/04/2012 14:48

they are 8 months and two. and i use a double buggy or trolley, to make shopping easy for me. i am on my own and its easier to shop that way.

Warren I have just seen your post. Well done you, though I am so sorry to read that your DC melted. Fucking inconsiderate twats. Really they should have the whole carpark covered and conveyor belts to the store to save our lazy fat arses.

Noqontrol · 23/04/2012 14:50

I think all the p and c spaces should be for me. No one else, just me. They should have my name on them all, right across the country, just in case I decide to travel there one day.

BigHairyFlowers · 23/04/2012 14:51

Should they have separate conveyor belts for parents and toddlers though??

FrankWippery · 23/04/2012 14:51

Arf Warren. That is a good idea. You know, I have NO idea how the actual fuck I managed with three children under three when they didn't have these amazing lazy twat spaces. Frankly it's a miracle that mine didn't melt too.

YonWhaleFish · 23/04/2012 14:52

Dragon I don't understand why you'd need to leave a child in traffic or in an empty space? I also don't get why you think your needs are greater than anyone else's. Have a Dragon

ScarlettAlexandra · 23/04/2012 14:52

i would never park in a disabled spot so why is it wrong to use spaces that been allocated for people like myself.

OP posts:
SeaHouses · 23/04/2012 14:52

But surely another driver is more likely to notice a double buggy that they are to notice my 13 year old? I can't see how a child strapped in to a double buggy is in more danger of being hit by a car in a supermarket car park than any adult or older child with their back to half of the traffic as they load shopping into the boot of a car?

It is surely a tiny, tiny risk.

FrankWippery · 23/04/2012 14:52

Totally BigHairy - there should be one for us direct to chocolate and wine and one for the pesky children a long way in any direction but our one. Shopping would be much more fun.

fedupofnamechanging · 23/04/2012 14:53
Dragon

I have nothing new to add, just wanted to do the dragon

sixlostmonkeys · 23/04/2012 14:53

no one is saying it is wrong for you to use them Just telling you why it's not wrong for others to use them too

ScarlettAlexandra · 23/04/2012 14:53

what would you do then?

OP posts:
BigHairyFlowers · 23/04/2012 14:54

Ooh the children's one could drop straight into a giant ball pool Grin

ABatInBunkFive · 23/04/2012 14:55
