He wasn't well Friday after school, spent weekend with his dad and went to scouts parade yesterday. Got caught in torrential rain and now has sore throat and says he feels rubbish. No temperature and I think he'd probably manage school.

It's raining again and he'd have to walk in rain, he's saying he really feels rough and will spend say revising for test tomorrow. Would I be unreasonable to send him in?

His baby sister is on ab for jest infection and brother (4) has awful cough and cold (debating preschool for him today)

Will he be a help or hinderence if he stays at home?
Have a duvet day.

only4tonight · 23/04/2012 08:11

How old is he and is he normally ok with going to school?

MamaMaiasaura · 23/04/2012 08:11

He said he'd help with his little brother and play with him.. Tempting... (so is packing them both off and raiding chocolate eggs)

Hmm, that's a tough one. I'd be inclined to keep him home on the proviso that he does indeed do the revision he's promised. If you deen he hasn't done enough by lunchtime then pack him off back to school. So no telly or other screentime for him, just school books.

MamaMaiasaura · 23/04/2012 08:12

He's 12 years ad normally fine. He's now hamming it up

if he's truly unwell, he shouldn't go to school. However, he shouldn't be sitting around playing computer games or anything like that either.

AutumnSummers · 23/04/2012 08:17

Keep him home. what he can . can't do for the day you'll be able to judge for yourserlf. Tell him we hope he feels better soon.

AutumnSummers · 23/04/2012 08:18

*can / can't

only4tonight · 23/04/2012 08:18

If its a 1 off I would let him off with it but if he is ill he is to do no running around or anything exciting at all. Sofa/bed revision and entertaining little bro.

BellaVita · 23/04/2012 08:20

Send him to school.

Unwell in this house means, bed, no tv or anything for that matter.

I have a 13 and 15 yr old.

Firawla · 23/04/2012 08:20

keep him off he's not well

AWomanCalledHorse · 23/04/2012 08:21

I'd keep him home, no tv though. Plus if the other kids are really ratty with illness, he maybe a help??

Hope everyone in ChezMaiasaura is better soon.

DilysPrice · 23/04/2012 08:23

Duvet day, but in bed (with revision books), no screen time.

MamaMaiasaura · 23/04/2012 08:26

bella that's the rules here too usually.

Ok decision , I've called school. He has a test tomorrow and my logic is that I'd prefer him to be well enough to go and also feel well enough to perform well.

Ds2 is having strops all over the place, over everything. Sure sign he's feeling rubbish too.

Dd asleep after feed.

Wish I was still in my pj's now, been awake since 5.30 (not counting 12, and 3 zzz)
