It's for popular people. I am a member of none all of the groups because I'm like sooooo fabulous. People never PM me all the time too. flicks swishy hair and sashays off

rhondajean · 21/04/2012 22:27

Feck knows, it seems to be some people being shiy because other people talk to each other of Facebook as well as here, seems a bit needy to me.

I don't do fb and I don't care what other people get up to on it, I'm quite happy mooching round the forums and sticking my neb in when I feel like it.

rhondajean · 21/04/2012 22:27

Shly - shirty.

WorraLiberty · 21/04/2012 22:29

It makes no sense to me either

From what I can gather, some people from MN have a FB group that they mainly use to talk about threads posted here...I think?

Hardly crime of the century.

I've been on loads of forums that have had spin off groups elsewhere.

Mind you, it's always very entertaining when they fall out with each other and all the 'private' shit gets copied and pasted onto the forum....so everyone gets to read who slagged off who Grin

Sarcalogos · 21/04/2012 22:29

I think it's for the people who need to convince themselves they have made the MOST friends in all situations at all times.

Yawn and skip over those bits... There's plenty of entertaining stuff to read on here without getting drawn into this ridiculousness.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 21/04/2012 22:34

For popular people? I woudo have thought it was the opposite. Seems a bit odd to me. Why not just post on here? Confused If they want to slag other posters off and need it to be private, well, that's a bit school girlish isn't it?

blackeyedsusan · 21/04/2012 22:36
ImperialBlether · 21/04/2012 22:39

It's the work of the devil, encouraging shallow friendships and general oneupmanship.

2shoes · 21/04/2012 22:47

how odd
I only belong to groups on fb that are linked to games i play(tragic I know) ot to do with sn.

Gumby · 21/04/2012 22:48

Is it moldies take two?

TandB · 21/04/2012 22:50

2shoes! Are you a geek? Shock

2shoes · 21/04/2012 22:52

no I am just a tragic person who has no life or rl friends so I play SIms on Fb

OP posts:
agreetodisagree · 21/04/2012 22:56

The second coming asked people how many fb groups they were on.

These groups were presumably invite by pm only - add a mnetter you know in rl type

Some were on groups, some weren't, no definitive list else wouldn't be secret

Bups - who I adore for the PALFHK thread which has got me through an otherwise shitty week - created her own CW group for anyone to join just by pm ing her. AFAIK the CW group mocks PeterAndre and AlexReid (I am not on fb so can only imagine the borange photos) and fb likey icons means you can like stuff whereas on here you have to applaud silently or bold the poster with a smiley.

There is no teachers fb group (another thread tonight? didn't read it all)
but there may be doggy groups, postnatal groups, religious groups or whatnot but you would need an interest/PM/RL fber to know.

That is all x

WorraLiberty · 21/04/2012 22:57

No

Tragic is when your Sims family leave home without so much as a thank you Grin

2shoes · 21/04/2012 22:59

DioneTheDiabolist · 21/04/2012 23:00

Oh. Ok.

I'm not that bothered about FB.
I only set up an account so I didn't have to give my phone number to DS's friend's mums when he left nursery.
Now I mostly use it to stalk Ben Willbond. Badly.Blush

MNHubbie · 21/04/2012 23:01

Thank you for asking it saves me from doing it.

Or Facebook Grouos as I've seen them called.

WorraLiberty · 21/04/2012 23:03

He's 20 and has got away with his crime thus far? Shock

You should have reported him to the Police

He would have got a free course of driving lessons or something

HecateTrivia · 21/04/2012 23:03

Basically, there are lots and lots of groups on facebook that people can join.

It's the biggest breaking news since we learned that bears shit in woods.

HarrietSchulenberg · 21/04/2012 23:04

Eh? Mumsnetters have Facebook groups to talk about Mumsnet? And they start threads on Mumsnet to talk about their FB groups? Is it just me or does that sound like an Escher painting?
Perhaps I am too old for this interweb thing.

Bambino81 · 21/04/2012 23:10

Worra you crack me up Grin

MNHubbie · 21/04/2012 23:15

Harriet That is exactly what I was thinking.

WorraLiberty · 21/04/2012 23:20

Bambino Grin

All my life I've wondered where bears actually shit Shock

agreetodisagree · 21/04/2012 23:21

Dione

Love Ben W. Did you ever see him in Pririte a gauche? Saw him twice in Edinburgh. Piss funny.

Gay40 · 21/04/2012 23:24

For me the whole point of being on MN is that it is more anonymous than FB.
