To be angry at the amount of cosmetic surgery Madonna et al appear to have had

I'm watching the recorded version of Madonna's interview on Daybreak and am shocked. Im 41 and she looks younger than me. For the record I'm fairly youthful looking (but it's genetic as my 60something mum looks as if she's in her early 50s). Then I saw some another actress being interviewed and thought 'she looks young' googled her age and shes 5 years older than me. Now I do feel comfortable with my looks but this evening I suddenly feel a bit rubbish...

Madonna does not look younger than 41!

BillyBollyBandy · 20/04/2012 19:19

Madonna looks like someone 50+ who has had a lot of work done.

You can't hide it when people have had work done, even when relatively young. Amanda Holden? Kylie? You can tell.

AnyFucker · 20/04/2012 19:20

Madonna should take those daft gloves off. She won't though, her hands show her age. You cannot hide it, even with surgery.

BanalChelping · 20/04/2012 19:21

Madonna terrifies me, I think she's made of Bakelite and black widow spider.

CantwaittillSpring · 20/04/2012 19:22

If you didn't know her you would think she was younger than 52. I'm just angry feel like my female role models are falling by the wayside. Is there any one out there who doesn't mind ageing?!

People always look rough after work, most with that gormless looking trout pout..

What's jennifer Anniston had done? DH and I were trying to work it out the other day after watching horrible bosses. Is it eyes and cheeks? It's a shame, I no longer see her as beautiful when I look at her, just try and work out why she suddenly looks odd.

diddl · 20/04/2012 19:23

YABU to be angry-it´s up to her isn´t it?

I couldn´t give a toss-I dont live in their world & neither does anyone I know.

I only mix with the unsurgically enhancedGrin

landofsoapandglory · 20/04/2012 19:23

I watched it and was bloody grateful that I can't afford to do that to my face. I think she looks awful, TBH. I'm 41 and without trying to sound arrogant I look better than Maddona!

GrahamTribe · 20/04/2012 19:24

Angry? That's a bit extreme isn't it?!

Bambino81 · 20/04/2012 19:25

I don't mind ageing really. Not overly bothered. Dunno if I'll be saying the same in 10years time

LentillyFart · 20/04/2012 19:25

YABVVVU to be angry. In fact you should feel relieved - these women will never know a minute's peace or serenity whilst they are forever in the grip of this absurd desire to look what they are not.

NorbertDentressangle · 20/04/2012 19:26

Every aspect of the madonna interview was no doubt approved by her and her team -the lighting, the camera angles, her make-up etc

She may look younger than her age but she does not look younger than 41. As AnyFucker said, just look at her hands, arms etc.

joannita · 20/04/2012 19:26

It's not really worth getting angry about. Famous women are going to get themselves cosmetically tarted up. Madonna has always been about image, so she was bound to go under the knife. If you look youthful, that's great but I'm assuming you're a normal person, not a celebrity. People don't judge us normal folk by the same standards. There's a lot more pressure on celebrities to look their best, but it's true they often end up looking false. Take Lulu for example. She actually looks more attractive that when she was a hamster_faced 16 year old who wanted to shout! But does she look real? Not really!

CantwaittillSpring · 20/04/2012 19:27

I didn't mind the ageing process, maybe I'm feeling delicate and that's why it bothers me. Anyway it must be strange not to frown. I'm feeling reassured by people's reactions her. For a brief moment I wondered if I should... but no

She looks very different these days, I saw a pic of her recently and if I hadn't seen the caption I would have had no idea it was Madonna. But it's her face, she can do what she likes.

ddubsgirl · 20/04/2012 19:34

she hides her hands, worse i have seen so far is rose mcgowen, she was so pretty before now looks bloody awful.

CantwaittillSpring · 20/04/2012 19:35

But Rose McGowen - she's in her 30s?!

I know it sounds a bit weird but just imagine what Madonna, or someone like her, would look like naked - they must look like that game where you draw part of a body, fold the paper and pass it on to someone else who draws the next bit ie. nothing matches and it all looks odd.

There are bits you can fix to some extent (face, norks etc) but there are bits that, no matter how wealthy you are or how much you are willing to pay, you cannot fix (knees, hands, arse).

I'm not saying people shouldn't have anything done but too may people are having too much done.

To me she looks like shes trying to be a female Iggy Pop Wink

cornsyilk · 20/04/2012 19:38

I thought that Jenifer Anniston seemed to be ageing naturally - she certainly has forehead lines.

ouryve · 20/04/2012 19:41

You must be an old 41 because I'm 42 and she looks older than me.

And isn't anger a rather unreasonably strong emotion under the circumstances?

DPrince · 20/04/2012 19:42

Jennifer aniston looks weird recently. But its up to them, why get angry?

ouryve · 20/04/2012 19:43

And for all her working out, she still has bingo wings.

MarshaBrady · 20/04/2012 19:45

I bet it's hard not to think about little physical things when a sleb.

Loads of eyes on you, bet it makes you hyper aware.

CantwaittillSpring · 20/04/2012 19:46

Angry is too strong a word, more probably depressed, Madonna used to be so cool.

OP posts:
LentillyFart · 20/04/2012 19:48

Ah yes - Madonna used to be so cool. Now she's not really but nobody's bothered to tell her!
