to just not want to go to work tomorrow??

I will go though. I've got a horrible chest infection and am feeling pretty shit. Was offered a sick note by Dr, but (martyr that I am) said that as it's a pretty sedentary job I'd be OK.

Anyway - tomorrow at work I've got a horrible financy type meeting to chair in the morning - which is going to be a nightmare as I haven't had enough time to prepare. In the afternoon I've got a site visit with a particularly tough group of people - I am preparing for a complete ear bashing/shouting at session.

I really don't think I can face it - am anticipating bursting into tears at some point during the day.

I can't call in sick though as both things have to happen this week, there's no-one to cover for me and I'm not in on friday.

I hate being a grown-up. I just want DP to write me a note excusing me from work....."Dear boss, please excuse Gin from work today as she is not well"

And to top it off I think my period is on its way.

I need a shake!

The problem is, if you are ill and you struggle onwards you risk making it worse and then being off for a week and then you'll really be buggered. Re-schedule the meetings, do what you can from home and get better xxx

plus you will infect the whole office! ring back doc in morning and take the cert.

Can't reschedule, linked to a load of other deadlines which can't be moved. Meetings have to go ahead tomorrow and (although I know no one is indispensable) I have to be there.

I'm not infectious.
