My fridge currently smells like the toilets in a cheap nightclub, after a bout of D&V has made its way through the patrons. I blame DH's stilton, camembert and unnamed holey cheese. Urgh. It makes me want to vomit every time I open the fridge (not to the extent of actually losing weight though)

YANBU. It stinks.

What's more, it should not be kept in the fridge, but in the Pantry. On a stone shelf.

One's Pantry should be situated very far away from The Household and very close to The Servants' Quarters, since they emanate a similar odour and will naturally not notice.

Grin You're right though, it is 'orrible

Kladdkaka · 16/04/2012 18:09

We have a cheese factory in the next town over. The have a cafe where you can have a 'cheese buffet'. Stinky cheeses, holey cheeses, moldy cheeses. Cheese, cheese and more cheese. It's like a little slice of cheesey heaven.

BonkeyMollocks · 16/04/2012 18:10

Shocking Wink

PickleSarnie · 16/04/2012 18:14

Mmmmmmmn, stinky cheese. I miss proper stinky, blue, unpastuerised loveliness. The fun police have banned it for up-duffeders. I'm making do with stilton in mounds (recently released back onto the "allowed" list)

CrystalMaize · 16/04/2012 18:14

Grooooooaaaaan Stealth!

startail · 16/04/2012 18:15

DMIL used to wrap FILs roc fore (sp? Heaven knows how I hate smelly cheese) in plastic, put it in a tuperware box in another plastic bag and she swore it still tried to escape.

winnybella · 16/04/2012 18:15

Ask him to put in tupperware box.

But they are delicious, that's why.

HairThieves · 16/04/2012 18:15

I love cheese but can't get past the bit of my brain that tells me:-

  • mouldy things are bad for you
  • smelly things are bad for you
  • cheese that has started to turn to liquid is bad for you
CrystalMaize · 16/04/2012 18:15

It's funny how even though it's stinky you can still eat it. I can't think of any other food that you would do this with.

winnybella · 16/04/2012 18:15

Pickle- why are you allowed stilton, but not others?

Prudencetheflatulent · 16/04/2012 18:15

I agree, we've got some seriously smelly cheese in our fridge at the moment. It puts me off having a cup of tea because I have to open the fridge for the milk. It is so bad I didn't realise there was also some festering fish that I thought DH cooked for my niece last week which also reeked Blush.

StealthPolarBear · 16/04/2012 18:16

i eat cheddar edam and red leicester
also dont mind a scraping of stilton on a cracker

OP posts:
CrystalMaize · 16/04/2012 18:18

White stilton is nice and doesn't have the same pong

StealthPolarBear · 16/04/2012 18:18

it is in a tupperware box, that's the worst bit.
Honestly, if you came round, you'd hand me the number for dyno rod

Stinky cheese .

Just seal in layers and suffer enjoy.

PickleSarnie · 16/04/2012 18:19

winny, I think it's because it's a hard cheese? I'm not entirely sure. But I found a bit on the nhs website that says it's okay and that's enough for me!
