to expect to be told im not on the list for hospital clinic ?

I went to a ante natal clinic appointment this morning. It was down for 11.45. I booked in at desk no problem. At 12.15 i asked how much longer it was likely to be. At 12.45 i asked again. At 1pm i said i really needed some idea of timing as needed to catch a train at 2pm. Each time i was assured od be called shortly. At 1.15 i got called and doctor demanded to know why i was there as i was not on list and sid not have appointment. I showed her letter and she said it was for wrong clinic and to come back tomorriw which i cant do.

Aibu if i complain ? I wouldnt mind od theyd said at start but jad day off work and $16 taxi gates for no reason at all

they should have asked to see your letter the first time, when you booked in.

How could they book you in if you weren't down on their list?

I feel you pain. I wasted several hours a few months back going to a much waited for appointment at the hospital. Couldn't find the right clinic because of all the building works. Eventually found someone willing to help only to discover I was at the wrong hospital in the wrong city.
