to think people should get a life

There are so many ridiculous threads about stupid stuff that i wonder where all the people with the real problem go for help. Who cares what people put on FB as long as it doesn't affect you, who cares if you want a different meal to the rest of your family, get a life and get over it there are so many people with worse problems not moaning about them just getting on with it

OP posts:
TuftyFinch · 13/04/2012 23:37

Oh look there goes Concord again.

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2012 23:38

Especially if they are better than the rest of the users. Confused

tethersend · 13/04/2012 23:48

But I am better than all of you.

I'm not sure what the OP's point is.

TuftyFinch · 13/04/2012 23:52

Tether you are. Except Ethel. Yours not better than her. Equal but not better.

Honeydragon · 14/04/2012 00:06

Damnit, there was me trying to be nice because yet again an op decides to forgo important punctuation.

Last time I leave my comfort zone Sad

QuintessentialShadows · 14/04/2012 00:08

Yup.

Mumsnet. The site for us who cant work out how to bathe or babies, or access healthcare.

Whatmeworry · 14/04/2012 09:38

Trivia is irrelevant, grammar is all.....

CrystalMaize · 14/04/2012 10:05

If you read some of the other threads on here, OP you will see that there are many crushingly serious problems discussed and that Mnetters are given a tremendous amount of support, sympathy and encouragement. It sounds like you are judging simply by AIBU and chat.

I suggest you take the time to read some of the Relationships, MH and SN threads, to name but a few. Then see who needs to get a life.

Don't forget, life is full of serious and "trivial" things. What may seem trivial to you could be of great importance and distress to others. Or else people may be Shock Having A Laugh.

Stick your judgey pants on a boil wash.

OP, are you okay? If you want advice and support, this is a great place. And no-one gives a flying fuck about your status. And if you want to come here and talk about life's silly side, it's great for that too.

They don't even care if you're a mum - I'm certainly not.

AutumnSummers · 14/04/2012 12:05

I often find it bizarre when people post here to moan abput what people post here OR on FB. Get off your soapboxes and stop being so easily irritated by the posting quirks of others. That, in itself, is pretty irritating and suggests that maybe YOU should also perhaps get a life?!

TallyMeBanana · 14/04/2012 14:33

Why should people not post trivial or light hearted stuff on here OP?

I see death, bereavement & very stressful situations every day in my job, I have money worries, family problems etc and feel bloody miserable about it but I don't feel the need to sit and moan about it all the time, what good would that do?
So if I have a little pet hate or someone has pissed me off for something really trivial i'll post it on here because I have bigger problems at home/work.
I'd rather get it off my chest here than to my DP for example.

Maybe I would like to talk about something else other than my relationship/work/money etc.......

YABU!

Mrsjay · 14/04/2012 14:37

i would probably snap and stab somebody in the eye if i couldnt whine and moan about trivia , infact the trivial stuff can really get under your skin its best to get it all out so we dont snap and do the stabbing in the eye thing Grin

Giyadas · 14/04/2012 14:41

Well I tried to get a life, but it's started to rain, so...
Will try again later.

guffaw · 14/04/2012 21:42

Grin @ one arse kitchen ... I think I have one of these

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 15/04/2012 11:43

I notice that Linzi hasn't seen fit to engage with the points that I made earlier on this thread - to whit, the fact that I doubt she always discusses only the most serious of topics and never trivialities, or that a site like this is like a pub/coffee shop or other social gathering, where there will be a range of discussions going on - from the very serious to the utterly frivolous. I doubt that Linzi would walk into a party or coffee shop, listen to some of the conversations and then tell those present that they needed to get a life - so why be so rude as to do that here?

AutumnSummers · 15/04/2012 13:29

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius, spot on. I completely concur. The very essance of conversation is it's fluidity. I really couldn't imagine living permenantly in the land of the the soberly serious. How depressing!

AutumnSummers · 15/04/2012 13:39

And further to OPs post about not being able to coete with "Nanny Problems."

Have my very first Biscuit

So you because you feel inferior to those of a higher social class / with a higher standard of living than you, they should just button it?! Your inability to relate to someone else's issues is irrelevant.

You thought we were all supposed to be equal? Really? NO-ONE person is EVER equal to the other. People are too diverse for your (slighty communist) theory to work in practice.

We are only equal in the sense that we all deserve respect and should try to have the capacity to show respect to our peers regardless of thier position / status. You have been disrespectful throught this thread and about the very people you criticise.

AutumnSummers · 15/04/2012 13:39

*Not being able to COMPETE with Nanny problems (sticky keyboard)
