There are so many ridiculous threads about stupid stuff that i wonder where all the people with the real problem go for help. Who cares what people put on FB as long as it doesn't affect you, who cares if you want a different meal to the rest of your family, get a life and get over it there are so many people with worse problems not moaning about them just getting on with it

I am in no way saying peoples lives are trivial. Normaleggy i have been in your situation and worse and that is what makes me think that the things that people have to moan about on MN is quite trivial.

So if you don't like it linzi then go somewhere else.

Talking about little niggles in RL can lead to big blow ups (as I've found!), so no harm to people to want to talk about them on here instead.

People with a life (not me, obviously ) still have minor niggles they want to get off their chests- where is the harm?

we-ell it could be that folk are deflecting their thoughts from the Big Bads that are happening and concentrating on the Little Bads instead, non? More manageable IYSWIM.

Back in the old days (apparently) you'd gossip over the garden fence with your neighbour, or you'd see your family every day. Now we all hate our neighbours and our families live miles away, so we MN instead. Society has changed, but the need to gossip/moan/chat/winge hasn't. We've just found another way to do it.

But....I like moaning about trivial things because I know that it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. If I only talked about my problems, I'd be in a very dark place now. MN has been a saviour for me, not just because of all the fantastic advice and support I have received but for all the hilarious threads that have cheered me up and despite the problems I have had, I still get pissed off about stupid FB updates and trivial things. It's just as much a part of life as the major things in life.
