OP - unless you only ever converse about serious topics and shun any mention of anything trivial or lighthearted, them you are being very unreasonable. But I am absolutely sire that you talk about all sorts of things - even trivial matters - in real life.

Mumsnet is the internet equivalent of a coffee shop or pub, or of many social gatherings. You.wouldn't go into somewhere like that and expect to find only serious discussion of weighty topics, or complain if some people were talking about trivialities, would you? So why do it here?

What is this life of which you speak? Is it the one where I am living with my parents, sharing a bedroom with my 2 dcs because I left my horrible, cheating husband?
