To not want to live in a country where it's ok for men to piss openly on the roadside

Twice in a week
With no shame at all
Last Sunday a cyclist on a country - but busy- road
Today in a busy A road a coach had pulled over and a dozen blokes were overtly slashing on both sides of the road
I'm no prude - but it's not nice
Or am I??

When I lived in the UK my front garden was on the pub route home. Not just men used to piss in my garden, once a girl did a shit on my doorstep.

happycake · 09/04/2012 09:11

I once had a man tell me I was 'bang out of order' for walking past his friend pissing at a tram station in central Manchester. I didn't even notice what they were doing until I had to step over the stream of piss.

lou2321 · 09/04/2012 09:56

I don't get why they can't wait - I notice no one is saying 'the women squatting at the side of the road', where do all the women go to wee?. I would let my children do it as they are only infant school age but even then if we were near a service station they would wait.

Fair enough if someone is completely desperate but in that case have the decency to be mega discreet!

Its gross, I hated it when I used to go clubbing and you'd be walking along the pavement and suddenly a stream of piss would run down the pavement aroud your feet - vile!!!!

lou2321 · 09/04/2012 09:57

ooh x-posts - that gross - the woman shitting on the doorstep!

pigletmania · 09/04/2012 10:00

A lot of men do it for the sake of it, be ause they can. I am pretty sure they can wait, it's like the environment is in big urinal to them, gross and disgusting g, not even discreet

DinahMoHum · 09/04/2012 10:02

I dont think there is a country where people wouldnt do this if caught short

pigletmania · 09/04/2012 10:03

Dad he is old enough to understand to find a discreet place, hardly a toddler potty training. I have no problem with going public f absolute necessary, but be discreet and respect the environment and people about you. Some have nonmanners at all

jandymaccomesback · 09/04/2012 10:23

In Singapore they have signs on the lamposts with a graphic which means no peeing in the street- which presumably means it is/has been a problem there.

jandymaccomesback · 09/04/2012 10:26

I've just remembered, we saw a woman in very white trousers pull them down to pee just round the corner from the Reichstag in Berlin. The white trousers attracted our attention.

So it's not just the British laddish culture then is it

pigletmania · 09/04/2012 11:11

The open air urinals are gross. What about women don't tey have to peeHmm. A better solution would be to have more Posen late night conveniences open, funded by the pubs and clubs

pigletmania · 09/04/2012 11:11

That both sexes can use

birthdaygurl · 09/04/2012 11:18

My neighbour used to piss across the road from his/our house!

DinahMoHum · 09/04/2012 11:25

maybe im strange but i honestly couldnt care less if someone pees up a tree or on a bush.

I dont like it up a lampost or on a street, unless it was in a drain, but apart from that, if there was no toilet nearby i dont think id even give it a second thought

cumbria81 · 09/04/2012 11:26

YABU. Who cares? It's just weeing

fuzzpig · 09/04/2012 11:26

I've always thought it unfair that men can just whip it out and women can't - it's a lot harder for a woman to be discreet.

I guess that's why they invented the she-wee thingy.

helloclitty · 09/04/2012 11:27

I was really surprised when I lived in Japan how common this was there. Such a polite society but lots of pissing outside!!

ivykaty44 · 09/04/2012 11:31

Op - I would like to live in a country where local councils have public toilets - but every town seems to have shut there public lav's and there is literally no where to go....

pigletmania · 09/04/2012 12:24

How come then you see men doing it public ally and not women.

katiesname · 09/04/2012 13:04

I didnt think it was legal??! What i object to is those urinals they have in big cities... WTF? so women can hold it in and men can't?
Why cant they just be decent?

pigletmania · 09/04/2012 13:40

It's not just weeing, we're not dogs, more civilised than that! Wee causes damage to wood, erodes stone, so it's not just weeing. Yes people get caught short, find a discreet place not in full view of the public, aren't these men doing public weeing embarrassed hav they no dignity!

gimmeabreak · 09/04/2012 13:48

agree piglet - i saw more than one knob yesterday

OP posts:
pigletmania · 09/04/2012 14:40

It's dirty and disgusting

pigletmania · 09/04/2012 14:55

There's a difference between a toddler seeing in public as they are potty training ad a grown adult who can hold and should know better
