A friend of mine put on her status the other day that the council had sent letters to all residents saying ball games were banned and excessive noise. She was saying how unfair it is and how kids need to play. I said I agree they do but also see the other side and how a few bad parents ruin it for all by allowing their kids to run riot, kick balls over peoples gardens/against walls/garages etc and how although kids have a right to play people have a right to enjoy peace in their own homes and not have their plants/cars etc damaged.
It was met with a load of 'fucking moaning old biddies' and 'the children should be seen and not heard generation moaning again...' type comments and I was surprised I seemed to be the only one with this viewpoint

It's about finding a happy medium really.

It's a lot easier for councils to put up signs like that than it is for them to spend some money making the parks a safer and more pleasant place to play.

It's ok thinking kids should be playing in the parks but some of them are little more than litter/needle/drug/gang ridden shite holes.

Im sure when i was a kid the neighbours just put up with the noise and random balls and bits in their gardens and put it down to the hazards of living near children.

Personally i can't stand loud shit music blaring out of houses all summer long which seems to be the norm these days

I think in this area, it's not the old people who moan but those with small kids.

It's funny how they change their tune as their kids grow older and they realise they need to play and let off steam.

There have even been moaners around here about kids with trampolines in their gardens...because they don't like the fact they can see over their fences ffs.
