Isn't it just another form of pda? Which are also bloody excruciating for everyone else.

I swear to god, I don't even know my friend anymore. She is a different person than I thought she was.

YANBU. It's designed to make the reader feel shit about their own lives and to boost the self esteem of the writer.

My pet hatred are couples who have lovey dovey chats on FB from the same fucking house. Just talk, you bastards!

MissFaversham · 05/04/2012 16:10

Why would you be so affected by it? So what? Why not be happy for her?

sooperdooper · 05/04/2012 16:17

Really bloody annoying, ugh makes me want to poke them in the eye, hide their statuses, that's what I do

sooperdooper · 05/04/2012 16:18

Because it's nauseating

SquishyCinnamonSwirls · 05/04/2012 16:18

Oh just be happy for her you miserable thing, or hide her posts.

Dh and I are nauseatingly lovey dovey with one another and quite honestly I don't care a fig what others think. Maybe your friend is the same.

SuperSlattern · 05/04/2012 16:19

I know someone like this

What she doesn't realise is her fiancé slags her appearance off behind her back Sad

MissFaversham · 05/04/2012 16:22

Because it's nauseating

For some yes, for others it's quite sweet. It's probably the first throw of lust etc. give them a few months years Grin

aboynamedsue · 05/04/2012 16:23

I am not feeling the love tbh. I'm sure most people would think I was jealous or a hard hearted cow, but it is just too weird.

She was controlled by her ex husband for the last 15 years, I would have thought that after finally breaking free, she would relish some independence. I have been surprised at how quick she has wanted to be back in a relationship. The whole thing is making me cringe.

What about couples who bitch at each other on FB while in the same house, but different rooms?

e.g
DH: Stick the kettle on love. I'm parched
DW: What did your last slave die of you twunt?
DH: Please. You never do anything for me
DW: Sod off. I'm watching iplayer.

etc.

Are they nauseating? Just so as I know. We don't anything like the above Blush

DontHaveAtv · 05/04/2012 16:31

I read a lovely post on fb that backfired, it was quite funny.
Status - Thank you to my lovely hubby for making my dinner tonight.
His reply to the post - I put arsenic in it.

:o

EightiesChick · 05/04/2012 16:32

Amen to all that, aboynamedsue. Including the bit about friends being not the person you thought they were.

EightiesChick · 05/04/2012 16:35

And yes, people who live in the same house: stop living out your relationship on social media! It's ridiculous.

Friend once tried to persuade me to join FB because 'you and Mr EightiesChick could send each other jokes'. Er, we live together and, you know, have actual face-to-face conversations? Plus, for the time in the day when we're apart, there are these things called mobiles or email. Why would we need to enact our conversations on a particular online public platform?

lolajane2009 · 05/04/2012 16:36

oh but i love my cute bunny wunny... i do, i do, i do

yanbu

glamourousgranny42 · 05/04/2012 16:37

Here's a suggestion, don't read em! Or hide their status. I have a friend who posts every detail about her day including what kind of bath she is having! Drives me mad!! I just just hide the status and check her page now and again.

MrsTerryPratchett · 05/04/2012 16:38

I have friends who do this and it is repulsive. They wouldn't come to my house and kiss outside my front door. It is a PDA and yuk yuk yuk.

Kayano · 05/04/2012 16:39

Some people are so bloody miserable and bothered what other people do

I LOVE MR KAYANO 4EVA N EVA xxx

DesperatelySeekingBunnies · 05/04/2012 16:39

Can't stand it. My theory is if they were really loved up like that they wouldn't need to keep reasuring everyone they love each other sooooooooooo much.

Me and DP went through a phase of hacking each others FB accounts and updating the status to vomit inducing ones for a laugh (he started it. I think.) All was going well had a giggle (lots of cutesy nicknames we've never actually used) until I put on his status "Everton are the bestest team in the whole world. And so are Chelsea. And Spurs. And United. I luff them ALL! Mwah! Oh and liverpool suck!"

Blush Apparently I went a leeetle too far. He went MAD. Deleted it and changed his password. Spoilsport.

Kayano · 05/04/2012 16:43

It's a crap theory then

I talk to DH on Facebook if he has a funny status and I'm elsewhere as I have fb on my phone.

I don't see the big deal or why half the people here even have fb and don't just use email instead

NoteSpelling · 05/04/2012 16:45

BUT I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUU OP.

ThisIsANickname · 05/04/2012 16:51

I have FB to talk to people that I don't live with. I don't make public declarations of love to my DH on FB because I prefer saying those things to him face to face. I guess it makes me uncomfortable to think that I am bringing other people into the privacy of my relationship with the public nature of FB.

That being true, I don't have a problem with what other people do. It really isn't difficult to just not read those status updates.

Ilovedaintynuts · 05/04/2012 16:53

My pet hate is people who describe their partner as GAWJUSS.
oh sweet Jesus Angry

aboynamedsue · 05/04/2012 16:55

I do think there are some things that should remain private. I am tempted to post some of their crap so you can see what i'm talking about lol.

usualsuspect · 05/04/2012 16:56

Are you wel jel OP?

Personally, I think people can write what the hell they like on their FB page

usualsuspect · 05/04/2012 16:57

And bitching about their status updates is a bit 2 faced if they are your mates.
