To be angry at this woman?

Hi,
Was swimming today with the little one and in my leisre centre you have to leave yor buggues upstairs. When I came back a woman just sat her baby into my pushchair, changed the harnesses etc. and tried out my buggy. I was so angry and told her off. I wasn't shouting or anything. The woman on the reception told me not be angry about it and there was nothing wrong with trying somebody's pushchair. Sorry but IMO there is. AIBU?

Sorry Exit, I might be on the wee'er's side here: "How very dare you plonk down your carseat in my house, tell you what, i'll piss on it, that'll teach you."

Or something. We are all primates, and as such are territorial.

I am so happy I saw her when I did. Buggy literally just got delivered yesterday.

Oh right.

I thought you were making a 'joke' about her DH being pissed off Grin

Kayano · 03/04/2012 19:55

My Pushchair went missing at the sure start centre. Dd was 4 weeks old.

In a panic I went to reception

To see the nursery manager with my pram giving her staff a demonstration of how awesome it was Grin

She was instantly forgiven lol. Broke the ice with the sure start staff too lol

hermionestranger · 03/04/2012 19:56

I think she was trying to steal it. Brand new cam (£800 ish) will fetch around £500 on eBay. I would definitely report it to the manager OP.

lechatnoir · 03/04/2012 20:18

I'd be asking to view CCTV

CecilyP · 03/04/2012 20:23

I can't believe the behaviour of some people. So, no, YANBU,

fedupofnamechanging · 03/04/2012 20:31

Don't take it back to that leisure centre and make a formal complaint to the manager. If they insist you leave your belongings in a specific place, then they ought to be responsible for any losses which occur. Ask about their insurance. If it turns out they don't cover theft, then refuse to comply with their bloody silly rules and put your buggy where you like.

Actually, I'd get a cheap buggy or a sling for activities where I could not keep an expensive pushchair with me.

thatboysmum · 03/04/2012 20:47

YANBU. I would be pissed off to find some one taking my buggy for a spin, brand new or not. The fact that it is a brand new bugaboo makes me think that it wasn't an innocent test drive though. Who really 'tries out' a strangers buggy AND adjusts it to suit their child?? I would definitely follow this up with a complaint to the manager, the receptionist may be involved, if so they can deal with that and they definitely need to have a word with her about how she speaks to customers. If she's not involved, maybe this may prompt them to find a better more secure solution for people leaving their buggies unattended. I wonder how often this sort of thing happens at that particular leisure centre though.

BornToShopForcedToWork · 04/04/2012 07:55

Yes I am a nanny, didn't mention it as it doesn't matter. I won't return to the leisure centre. Thats for sure!
