In disliking Carol Vorderman so very, very, much

Had the misfortune of seeing some of Loose Women yesterday. She refused to believe that making drugs illegal did little to prevent people from taking said drugs. She's entitled to her opinion but was just so inarticulate and was unable to develop the conversation further than 'ummmm, no'.Also, memories of her shrieky meltdown on Question Time, her advertising of debt consolidation loans, promotion of her detox rubbish, her chipmunk cheeks . . . . . . .

Quite good at sums does not seem to equate with any other discernible talent or intelligence.

I find her so very loathsome. Richard Whitely even faked his own death just to get away from her.

OP posts:

She changed when she turned herself into a commodity.

Cameron didn't keep up with the public's wariness about her new persona (crappy debt ads, crappy 'sciency' food ads) and got her to do some sums and write an essay on maths as a policy gimmick.

Vordemort then believed she could be a serious political contender, and went all right-wing to please the hand that fed her, and ended up in a carcrash Questiontime appearance.

Her next big gig was Loose Women.

foosty · 30/03/2012 18:32

agreed, I do recall thinking she was daft for doing the loan ads. And LW too - she should be on a panel show with actual intelligent, interesting females not the dumbasses on there

but she is lovely, LOVELY, I TELL YOU!

iismum · 30/03/2012 18:33

Agghh, you are so right, she is unbearable. Carol Voderpants, as I like to call her (I know, I know, I'm a famous wit ...)

It is suddenly blindingly obvious that Richard Whitely faked his own death to get away from her - I can't believe I never realised this before! It's her fault we don't have dear old Twice-nightly Whitely on our screens every day - the bitch.

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 18:35

foosty, but she went a bit weird on the intelliegent and interesting Questiontime. It was awful. She couldn't keep up, kept muttering over her notes, and said some extreme-lite, incongruent things.

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 18:38

And to be fair, I feel the same about the males who have done the debt ads, too. Sold their souls.

Angeleena · 30/03/2012 18:44

So glad to hear others dislike her.
She used to irritate me on countdown because she was humourless and boring, but then must have got a good agent and alot of surgery and botox and reappeared as a 'stylish, modern woman about town' despite her age.

She is still boring and humourless but somehow gets plastered over our screens.

[spiteful cat face]

NowThenWreck · 30/03/2012 18:47

I quite liked that blonde one what used to edit Smash Hits. They kicked her out. Probably because she was a bit grumpy and left wing .

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 18:52

NowThenWReck, who was that? I remember Jackie Brambles was on for a bit - or did I dream that?

NowThenWreck · 30/03/2012 18:59

Oh yeah, I forgot about Jackie Brambles. No, I am thinking of...Kate Thornton! Thats the one.

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 18:59

Oh yeah. Or am I mixing them up?

ilikecandyandrunning · 30/03/2012 19:00

Agree - her and gurning Davina - both so bloody annoying. What HAS Carol
Done to her face? She looks ridiculous!

Put em in the 101 bin!

girliefriend · 30/03/2012 19:07

YANBU always get the overwhelming urge to pick up the telly and throw it out the window when she comes on, used to quite like loose woman as a guilty pleasure on my days off - not anymore Angry

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 19:10

I just googled it (Loose Women) and found this on Wiki:

"On 23rd Feb 2012 the panel compared Breast feeding to a man flashing in public, something that caused outrage amongst public."

That one must have passed me by.

CarnivorousPanda · 30/03/2012 20:23

I've disliked her since I saw her flogging dodgy loans on daytime telly.
Greedy cow - did she really need the money?

ilikecandyandrunning · 30/03/2012 20:50

Yep - loose women used to be 'ok' - now it's horrendous

TheCrackFox · 30/03/2012 21:00

Bring back Kaye Adams!!!

Salmotrutta · 30/03/2012 21:12

Squawking harridans the lot of 'em.

I literally can't bear the screechiness of them.

But Kaye Adams was good. And witty too.

clam · 30/03/2012 21:21

I accidentally left the TV on recently whilst this shite was running, and all I could hear from the other room was shrieking and ooh-ing from the audience. How long is it on each programme before one of them utters a double entendre and gets a laugh, or "Denzie" says something slapper-y, sherrie "what am I like?" hewson something ditzy and Carol McGiffin something blokey about either her sex life or how many pints she downed the night before. And as for Jayne "I'm a Yorkshire lass with a couple of whippets and I loov me mam" McDonald.

Loved Kaye Adams.

keithlemonsbackdoors · 30/03/2012 21:27

YABU for watching Loose Women. There is no excuse.

Sausagedog27 · 30/03/2012 21:29

I cannot abide her. Mutton. Lamb. Fill in the rest! I wasn't sure exactly why I hated her but the recent tv stuff certainly doesn't help!

happybubblebrain · 30/03/2012 21:34

I hadn't realised all these things about her. I don't like her either now.
Thanks.

PimpMyTunnel · 30/03/2012 21:38

Her chipmunk cheeks .. now you've said that I do see what you mean! The only thing that annoys me about her is that little laugh she does before the question comes on to win money, its so annoying.

tettoni · 30/03/2012 21:39

Ahhh, reading all this is like coming home - for some reason some people still clasp the rotten, re-animated corpse to their bosoms. She is a completely vile, awful woman who stands for everything that's wrong with the world. And she used to have the answers to those maths problems piped into her ear on countdown! Fraud. Of course YANBU.

Very disturbing to read that Loose Women is actually MORE dumbed down since Kaye Adams has left. I last saw it about 7 or 8 years ago and it was haemorrhage-inducing then.

goes off to find the Question Time performance on youtube

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 21:55

I'm not that fussed about her tight clothage - after all, Terry Wogan has revealed the shape of his (presumed) penis with the cut of his trousers, as proudly imaged on MN. I just watned to say that.

happybubblebrain made me laugh.

DinahMoHum · 30/03/2012 22:00

i like that shes good at maths
