In disliking Carol Vorderman so very, very, much

Had the misfortune of seeing some of Loose Women yesterday. She refused to believe that making drugs illegal did little to prevent people from taking said drugs. She's entitled to her opinion but was just so inarticulate and was unable to develop the conversation further than 'ummmm, no'.Also, memories of her shrieky meltdown on Question Time, her advertising of debt consolidation loans, promotion of her detox rubbish, her chipmunk cheeks . . . . . . .

Quite good at sums does not seem to equate with any other discernible talent or intelligence.

I find her so very loathsome. Richard Whitely even faked his own death just to get away from her.

I can't stand the women or the whole panel for that matter.
They're all so judgemental and some of the things they say about people on benefits can be Shock especially Carol V and Jane Macdonald.
Yea cos they've worked hard all their lives yadayadayada.
Actually Jane you got lucky on a reality show on a Cruise Ship, and for some reason that gives you the right to spout your ignorant opinions on Loose Women.
I very rarely watch it now, as soon as it comes on I know it's time to walk the dog.

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 17:51

There's a particular Loose Women panel - Vordermort, McDonald, McGiffen and Maxwell - that has an air of the tricoteuses about it.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 30/03/2012 17:53

YANBU. I didn't even read your post to find out why you don't like her, because nobody who dislikes her is ever being unreasonable.

VickyandAlistair · 30/03/2012 17:57

I cant bear her scrawny arse.. face like a chicken chewing a bee..

NowThenWreck · 30/03/2012 17:57

YANBU.
I watch Loose women sometimes. I don't want to but then I can't look away, in a sort of fascinated by the horror way.
I can't BEAR Lisa Maxwell, and I strongly suspect Jane McDonald is a man, but Vorderman is the worst.
The fake laugh, the sly Shekshy looks to camera, the Right Wing views.

HolyCalamityJane · 30/03/2012 17:58

Glad that's agreed! Now what about the patronising bitch that is Lorraine Kelly "och you look gorgeous" I hate her!

Lol at Vordermort! YANBU can't stand her either.

lolaflores · 30/03/2012 18:01

The McGiffen article is possibly the most odious. a face like a prune and never stops on about her toy boy and how she can still fit in her old jeans and on and on. vile. vile. the lot of them. They do womanhood a disservice. They want Pat Phoneix on it (like through a seance), that'd show them. load of self opinionated z listers.
Who else loves Dr. Chris Jessen? Me I do I do (that was Pat Phoenix coming through my screen)

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 18:01

(Tricoteuses sat knitting at the foot of the guillotine, baying for blood. I imagine a fair amount of baying, anyway.)

LadyBeagleEyes · 30/03/2012 18:02

Yes LR, and who are these people?
An ex Gameshow host, a Cruise Liner Singer, I've no idea what McGiffen ever did and Lisa Maxwell who once starred in the Bill.?
Yet this show is on at the prime time when a lot of women are watching.
Bring back Kaye Adams, she was a proper journalist, and was/is one of my favourite women in the media.
Though I rather thing she was the rat running from the sinking ship rather than the other way about.
After her the show totally dumbed down.
But us women at home can't possibly listen to any sort of proper debate at lunch time, we is too thick it seems.
Loose Women=Daily mail reader.

MNHelenisPansfavourite · 30/03/2012 18:02

tricoteuse - are the women knitting at the foot of the guilotine as heads were rolling. I think.

(still would though).

squoosh · 30/03/2012 18:04

Yes LadyBeagle I also really like Kaye Adams. Doubt she'd have anything to do with the show these days.

McGiffen bangs on a bit about being married to Chris Evans once. Was she a DJ of some description herself?

Yes, Kaye Adams was good.

ShatnersBassoon · 30/03/2012 18:07

YANBU. She's a horror. She was alright in the olden days when she wore massive pastel-coloured blazers and hid behind her greasy fringe.

I hate her for dumbing down on Loose Woman. She pretends she doesn't understand topics that even the average bingo player would have a reasonable grasp of. She even speaks differently when she's on that awful show, as if she's so thick she can't form a sentence without slowing down halfway to think about how the rest of it might pan out.

HarlotOTara · 30/03/2012 18:12

Can't stand her either - she was on 'Who wants to be a millionaire' once and was asked a question about a Shakespearean play. She didn't know the answer so said that Shakespeare was rubbish and overated. I think her degree was a 3rd so not as bright as she likes to claim

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 18:12

They should invite MNetters on the actual Loose Women as guests.

foosty · 30/03/2012 18:18

you know, some years back I worked in a hotel that CV was staying in for weeks on end. I served her every day and she was chatty, interesting, kind, and she was lovely. Properly, genuinely lovely. I can't stand Loose Women but I won't hear a word against Carol!

LineRunner · 30/03/2012 18:19

foosty, that's why i think people felt so let down when she (seemingly inexplicably) did the debt consolidation advert.

lifeisfuckinggreat · 30/03/2012 18:21

Carol Vorderman sold her soul to the devil years ago with those awful loan ads. Her and the other loose women make me ashamed to call myself a women. Why would I want to be identified with those ignorant, attention seeking has-beens?

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 30/03/2012 18:21

Yes, she asked 'why would anyone want to muck about with their psychology?' which I thought was very clunkily phrased and dumb.

ShatnersBassoon · 30/03/2012 18:22

foosty, I think people know that she is actually an OK person, which makes the debt consolidation ads and 'I is stoopid' act on Loose Hags really irritating.

I love the thought of Carol leading an Alan Partridge-like existence, living in a joyless hotel Grin

noddyholder · 30/03/2012 18:24

I don't like her big bum

Henry1980 · 30/03/2012 18:26

I've disliked her since she did those tv ad's for dodgy secured loans
