To want everyone to stop moaning about the pasty tax?

BupcakesandCunting · 29/03/2012 16:20

Because it is really making me want a Greggs vegetable pasty?

Honestly, I have got a hankering for one that will not desist.

Pack it in everyone.

I had a sausage roll for lunch. Been craving one all week because of the prevalence of warm pastry products in the news. It was a posh sausage roll though - one of the handmade ones from M&S. Jolly good it was, too.

I really wanted a Cornish pasty thing from the pound bakery but got fat club tonight Sad

Have settled for some beefy monster munch post weigh in.

jenfraggle · 29/03/2012 16:33

Greggs do not sell pasties. I'm not sure how they get away with calling their meat turnovers Cornish pasties as they do not fill the criteria and the Cornish pasty has protected status.

Witchofthenorth · 29/03/2012 16:37

I am sad about the pasty tax:( my poor Cornish pasties!!! (thy are real BTW) :)

ClaimedByMe · 29/03/2012 16:39

Ive been craving a cheese and onion pasty from our loal bakers all week adter hearing about pasties all week on the news :(

BupcakesandCunting · 29/03/2012 16:41

WTF is a pound bakery????

Birdsgottafly · 29/03/2012 16:54

A pound bakery offers two products for a pound, or a sandwhich or two cakes.

It's all as good as sayers/gregs.

Birdsgottafly · 29/03/2012 16:55

They are springing up all over in Liverpool, but it means that they are more likely to be the choice for people with less money.

OTTMummA · 29/03/2012 16:56

Everything is a pound, in multipack form, so 4 sausage rolls = £1.
IMO, they are worse than greggs.

Greggs call their 'cornish' pasties supreme pasties where i live.
I still call it a cornish though.

VegimalStyle · 29/03/2012 16:58

Damn! Now I want a steak bake! Or a sausage and bean melt. Or both...

jenfraggle · 29/03/2012 17:03

A real pasty

OTTMummA · 29/03/2012 17:23

mmmmm, Sausage roll, yum yum and can of coke, reminds me of my learnin' days!

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 29/03/2012 17:39

You know, you could just go and get yourself a Greggs vegetable pasty to make your hankering go away. There is no need to stop people moaning about taxes, they won't know what to do with themselves.

VegimalStyle · 29/03/2012 17:40

Real pasties are amazing and I do enjoy them, but the steak bake is king of the high street lunches! Much rather eat one than a McRat BigWhopper any day.

fussbucket · 29/03/2012 17:45

I had two Greggs Sausage Rolls for lunch - mmm....

JarethTheGoblinKing · 29/03/2012 17:49

wtf is a pasty tax? Confused

VegimalStyle · 29/03/2012 17:50

The sausage rolls leave me cold... But then again, I'm just not a massive fan of any sausage rolls!
I liked the weird donuts they did at Halloween though

VegimalStyle · 29/03/2012 17:52

And for the record I had a pot of cous cous and half a banana for lunch.

Angeleena · 29/03/2012 18:52

Greggs hot sausage rolls and pasties are delicious -- however they are also full of fat and filled with unidentifiable meat lump. I love them but always get heartburn if I eat them and, as half the population is dieting, it's no wonder that D Cameron etc can't remember when they last ate one! I can't remember when I last ate one for the above reasons.

What a non-story.

celebmum · 29/03/2012 18:56

dont mean to start anything here OP but pretty sure Greggs no longer do the vegetable bake.....

at least none of the 3greggs in my town do.

bastards Angry

Mrsjay · 29/03/2012 18:57

I have a pasty thread going Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 29/03/2012 18:58

Mine still does the veg pasty.

Whatmeworry · 29/03/2012 19:00

The whole pasty thing is a deliberate smokescreen to get the Granny Tax, 50p let off etc off the front pages IMO

allthequeensmen · 29/03/2012 19:05

No I will not stop bloody moaning, how am I going to wean my baby now??!
