YABVVVU...... I agree with Mrs Kitty Fane- you cannot possibly know for sure and tbh it really is not your business.

But thanks, I'd never heard of a jollyfag until today!!! I live in South London and quite frankly, OP if you lived here you would see plenty of people driving with jollyfags.....

Live and let live I say.........

degroote78 · 03/04/2012 15:44

Surely you have more important things to worry about in life than this??!

HmmThatIsFairlyInteresting · 03/04/2012 15:51

I must live a gilded life as, actually, I don't.

Hmm

I have to say I find this sort of mindset slightly odd. It just wouldn't occur to me to dash about 'reporting' people for things like this.

pictish · 03/04/2012 16:34

Yabu, but am loving 'jollyfag' - how Outraged of Tunbridge Wells!
Am going to steal and pass off as my own forthwith.

'Darling...would you mind terribly rolling me a jollyfag...there's a brick!'

OhdearNigel · 03/04/2012 16:59

OMFG I absolutely cannot believe that so many people think that driving while smoking a spliff is fine Shock. Whenever I've smoked pot there is absolutely no way I would have been fit to drive.

Furthermore it is illegal under s4 of the RTA and is taken as seriously as drink drive by the court.

YADNBU

LentillyFart · 03/04/2012 17:03

Has it been proven beyond reasonable doubt that it WAS a bloody spliff? Or are we just jumping to conclusions because we've been polishing our genes today? Holy smoke.....sometimes can't believe what I read here!

OP YABU. YAB a stickybeak. YAB a tell tale tit. YAB a complete knob.

That is all.

ABatInBunkFive · 03/04/2012 17:04

She didn't know it was a spliff though. Confused

oldmum42 · 03/04/2012 17:15

If you suspect it was drugs - then yes, report it. My DH is often called to do drug tests on drivers who have crashed - he thinks he's seeing fewer drink drivers, and more drug drivers in the last few years (as people think it is ok to take drugs and drive, but drinking and driving has become unacceptable). Both affect your driving in the same way and people can die as a result.

oldmum42 · 03/04/2012 17:18

Lentilly, members of the public don't have to prove things beyond reasonable doubt to report them to the police, they just need to have a reasonable suspicion that the law is being broken - it's up to the police to investigate :)

ABatInBunkFive · 03/04/2012 17:23

Can you imagine the conversation,

PC What can i do for you?
OP Well i want to report something
PC what are the details
OP I saw someone smoking a roll up in a van.
PC Confused

pictish · 03/04/2012 18:27

Mwahahaaa! Grin

oldmum42 · 03/04/2012 18:32

ABAT.... if you supply the police with the car/van reg number and tell them you think the driver is driving under the influence of drugs, they will investigate in the same way as if you report a suspected drink driver.

PinTHISonYerCabbageMister · 03/04/2012 18:42

Just another voice to say: my partner and I have been known to share a roll-up in the car. And even when we don't share, he'll roll one, light it, smoke a puff or two, hand it to me, and then maybe roll another for himself. You can see us do it every time we get in the car because it's too dangerous to drive and roll your own at the same time.

HmmThatIsFairlyInteresting · 03/04/2012 19:31

I wasn't going to report to the police. I was going to mention what I saw to my friend's friend as this driver is WELL KNOWN to indulge in jollyfags - I just thought she might like the headsup as it is her van that is potentially in danger and it is inappropriate to be taking drugs whilst at work. Surely she, as his employer, has the right to this knowledge. But as I've been totally battered on here - I have decided against it, obviously me not being a telltale tit is more important than his blatant disregard to safe working practices. Ffs.

"'Darling...would you mind terribly rolling me a jollyfag...there's a brick!'"
Ha, ha, ha, love it.

Oh its so Animal Farm, so 1984.
lets dob someone in for something petty, and make ourselves look a prat, in the process.

Love it. Oh this is MN at its best.

Oblomov · 03/04/2012 19:44

OP seems to have missed the obvious. She has nothing to report, because she has no EVIDENCE. so she saw a roll up. yeah? and? and you KNOW this particular one, was a spliff rather than a nomral roll up, do you ?
Errr no. You don't. Do you?
END OF.

ABatInBunkFive · 03/04/2012 19:48

You are a lot bit daft if you are so sure you are doing the right thing why would you listen to strangers on a forum, if we all insisted you needed to pay us for our posts would you do it? Hmm

HmmThatIsFairlyInteresting · 03/04/2012 20:12

PETTY? driving while at work while stoned? That's not Fucking petty.

OP posts:
ABatInBunkFive · 03/04/2012 20:15

Oh so now you know for a fact they were stoned? I thought you just saw them with a roll up?

Flisspaps · 03/04/2012 20:16

If a jollyfag is meant to be a spliff, then I wonder what jolly hockey sticks actually are Confused

HmmThatIsFairlyInteresting · 03/04/2012 20:18

No obviously I would tell friends friend what I saw.. Leave her to draw own opinion.

OP posts:
LentillyFart · 03/04/2012 20:18

Getting sweary because you're just so wrong is a clear indicator that you actually know you're being twatty. Just own it. You're being twatty.

TrumpHair · 03/04/2012 20:21

Jollyfag? Grin Jollyfag with wackybaccy or merry jawanna in?

Were they smoking, laughing and gobbling chocolates?

Never, in all my years on mn have I seen an op in more dire need of being passed a j.

ABatInBunkFive · 03/04/2012 20:26

oh it's just you said you decided against it. Confused
