agincourt i'm going to report you for have a jolly whilst posting! lol WTF? Wink

anyways, interesting point would you report someone who you KNEW was driving while high? would it not be the same as driving drunk?

DartsAgain · 29/03/2012 13:36

OP Lots of people smoke perfectly legal roll-ups, my mum included. She says it's because it costs a lot less to roll her own. No weed in sight. I don't believe you can be certain that the roll-up you saw was a spliff, so I'd suggest you mind your own business.

scuzy · 29/03/2012 13:36

often shares cigarettes! jaysus how can you assume it was hash just because they shared it!!

Shakey1500 · 29/03/2012 13:37

It might indicate to YOU that it was a spliff but it's hardly conclusive is it? Jeez

OhChristFENTON · 29/03/2012 13:38

Driving whilst stoned affects your ability to, er... drive properly. Yes it's illegal.

I imagine that sharing of a roll-up would indicate that it wasn't just tobacco - is that what you mean OP?

And these were employees of your friend of friend do you mean?

I think I would keep out of it as you can't be entirely sure it was a spliff.

doctordwt · 29/03/2012 13:38

There's a recession on OP!

SerendipitousHarlot · 29/03/2012 13:38

That's bullshit. Me and the OH often share a fag in the car.

Shakey1500 · 29/03/2012 13:38

And, again, who exactly would you be reporting this to?

NarkedPuffin · 29/03/2012 13:39

Smoking (tobacco) in the workplace is illegal now, and AFAIK a company vehicle counts as the workplace. But would anyone really report that???

And back to 'jollyfag'. WTF?

hiddenhome · 29/03/2012 13:41

driving whilst stoned doubles accident risk

FondleWithCare · 29/03/2012 13:41

Seeing as you can't know if it was weed or plain old tobacco then you would be very unreasonable to report them. Do many people smoke drugs while they're driving along on roads where others can see them?

HmmThatIsFairlyInteresting · 29/03/2012 13:42

No I can't be entirely sure it was a jollyfag.BUT I know of this person and their habbits. So a reasonable assumption.Just concerned about what impact it might have on driving skills may become dangerous putting friend of friends property at risk at the very least

Passenger not an employee

If it is a work vehicle and there is more than 1 person in it, even if they are both smokers then it is still illegal. The same as it is illegal to smoke in your house if you have employed somebody to do work in it. It is classed as a workplace.

catgirl1976 · 29/03/2012 13:47

It is illegal to smoke in a company vehicle. But I wouldnt report it.

I wouldnt report this as you couldnt be sure it was a spliff and even if it was you could say half a spliff is the same as half a wine.

If someone was stoned I might report them for safety reasons, (although would first try to prevent them from driving by reasoning with them / taking keys / offering a lift etc) but half a spliff does not mean stoned necessarily. Like half a wine would not affect many people but would render some unsafe to drive.

You probably would report a drunk driver but you wouldnt report a driver who had half a pint.

FondleWithCare · 29/03/2012 13:50

And who says jollyfag Confused ? It sounds like something lovely.

HairyLemon · 29/03/2012 14:11

yabvu just leave it be ffs. You might get someone sacked for something so petty it wouldnt even register on my am-I-arsed-o-meter.

Yes smoking in a work vehical is illegal yadda yadda but come on, its probably a shit job (all jobs are shit IMO Grin ) christ let them have a bit of a small pleasure.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 29/03/2012 14:19

It is not illegal to smoke in your own home, even if you employ someone to work there. (Cleaner, carer etc).

MrsKittyFane · 29/03/2012 14:20

No I can't be entirely sure it was a jollyfag.BUT I know of this person and their habbits. So a reasonable assumption.

Not a reasonable assumption at all.
People who smoke hash smoke tobacco on it's own too!

HmmThatIsFairlyInteresting · 29/03/2012 14:49

catgirl1976: "even if it was you could say half a spliff is the same as half a wine."

Er, yes, because drinking half a glass of wine while driving a company vehicle is completely fine.

Cannabis is of course illegal. Smoking cannabis while at work is a sackable offence in most companies; smoking cannabis while at work and while driving is, I'd have thought, beyond the pale.

YonWhaleFish · 29/03/2012 16:53

teehee at "jollyfag"
