So, you cannot get replacement teats for Tommee Tipppee Easiflow cups anymore. Apparently.
I have 3 perfectly functional cups which have had their spouts bitten through and much as DS4 is now 2 and perfectly capable of drinking from an open cup (and often does), I find that approach somewhat messy when out and about.

So off I skipped to get replacement spouts. You cannae get them anymore. You can of course buy a whole new cup. At a cost. And with the expectation that you then of course throw your old cup/s away.
At first glance, i don't thing that the spouts on the new Explora cups are actually replacable.

Yippee and hooray to consumerism.
I am sure this will give the British economy a leg up Hmm.

This is just a teeny, tiny example of how IMO we are all constantly being taken for mugs. New, new, new, better, better, bigger, more.

FFS.

Right, somebody tell me to get a grip. Or agree with me Grin.

I totally agree with you, because I am in exactly the same position.

I reject any claim that I am biased!

Tried to do something similar a few years ago and contacted the "manufacturers" direct, as I hadn't seen replacement lids for my Tommy Tippee cups in the shops. Similar to you - cup was perfect, spout chewed through. Was told replacement lids not available and the item is shipped in as a "whole unit" from the Far East. We think we're so clever, but really we're not at all.

YAcertainlyNBU. I think, however, it's the Chinese economy getting more of a leg up.

PacificDogwood · 29/03/2012 10:45

Scholes, that's just depressing.

I wish the Chinese people well, really I do, but you cannot tell me that TT could not get new spouts produced in China if they wanted to, grrrrrr!

Consumer "choice" - ha!!
We are all being led down some money-grabbing, self-serving garden path Angry

Are we talking about bog standard tt cups? I just threw the tops away and then had an open cup with handles. Always have loads of them as they're so cheap.

PacificDogwood · 29/03/2012 11:00

Yes, bog standard cup. Was 'Easiflow', now 'Explora'.
Oh, I know I can keep using the actual cup as a cup, but still...

I suppose I am at the stage, where I just don't want to buy anything new as we have everything far-too-many-times (and yes, I do have other lidded cups as well) and I am actually in the process of getting rid of a lot of baby things.

We had the Easiflow cups and kept them between children only to find that they had been discontinued. I agree it is very wasteful, but I found the plastic on the cups became sticky over time. The Explora cups are not nearly as good.

We have switched to stainless steel now as we wanted something longer lasting and less wasteful.
