Apologies for seeming to combine two threads already on here, but we're meant to be off on holiday for 10 days to Scotland over the Easter break and the fuel strike news has unnerved me.

We're meant to be leaving this Saturday and coming back on Easter Sunday but my worry is that each journey with take two tanks of fuel (small fuel tank and towing) plus what we'll need to get around up there. AIBU to be worrying about going and thinking of calling it off, thereby letting down the kids and the other family we're meant to be going with? It just seems wrong to bury my head in the sand and hope for the best without knowing if we'll be able to actually get back!

Go and have a lovely time. If you're really worried then take a spare can of petrol in each car for emergencies. It won't get you the whole way home but it could help in a search for open petrol stations if really, really needed.

Go and have a great time. Fuel strike may well come to nothing.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I do tend to over-think these things. The dose of common sense is much appreciated!
