to be very angry at being pestered by SMS messages on my landline?

Phone rings about 3 times day.

When I pick up the phone I get told 'There is an SMS text message for you from '. Press blah to hear it....... etc. Press 3 to delete it - which i do.

And an hour later the phone rings again with the same blasted message...

So I range BT and after being passed through 7 (yes 7) different operators I get an option which (hopefully) bars SMS messages to my phone.

Is this SMS thing a scam?

When I get it it's because mil has accidentally text the landline instead of one of our mobiles. Never had a scam one

Yes smalltown I had one when I first moved into my new house, alone, at night, with the creepy BT robot voice reading it out down the phone. Was quite freaked.....

Turned out it was MIL saying best wishes for the new house Grin

Thanks for replying.

So, it's unlikely to be a scam.

I'll never know who sent it now as I've blocked all SMSs. Grin

Just block them.

I have a mate who is always sending me texts via my landline by mistake - it's just an accident and it's easily stopped.

We once had one at 3 in the morning which said " Get tooled up and meet me down at the park" Wrong number, obviously I'm not a gang member. That was creepy.

I've had these and they ARE a scam. They leave you a number to call back on which is premium rate.
