when the house is not for sale.

My mum just phoned me to ask where I was moving to - I thought she had lost her mind until she told me there was a FOR SALE board on my lawn.

The board went up while I've been in the house this morning.

Just phoned the agent and it is the right number but wrong street.

Oops!

I thought you were going to say you didn't want your neighbours to know or something! YANBU!

Small village - everyone knows me and the family, already had a few calls because of it!!

That happened to a house near us a while ago and I got all excited because it was a house I really liked. Sadly the sign went the next day and reappeared two doors down :(.

i've had that before.
i tore it off (it was on the front wall cos on-street terrace and was massive ), threw it in the bin and yelled a lot at the estate agent.

who told me that it wasn't their fault and i shouldn't have thrown it away because it belonged to them

I've already taken it down, it had been hammered into the lawn.

It now awaits collection from the "sign man".

This happened when I was a kid aged about 10... I slept at the front and awoke to a hammering noise... looked down and saw the For Sale sign in our front garden, ran down to my Mum who was in the kitchen bawling my eyes out saying I didnt want to move.. before the agent had driven off we had the neighbours coming over to interrogate.... it was the wrong road too!

When I was a student we used to go round and move all the 'for sale' signs we thought we were really fun and original putting the local school up for sale...

custard we did that as young teens too

We had that, man knocked on the door and said - where do you want the for sale sign love? Which was a problem as were weren't selling - turned out they had the wrong number.

I think you should claim for damage to your lawn
