...to think this HAS to change, MNHQ?

It has come to my attention just recently that certain posters (not all, but there are a select few who are spoiling it for everyone) are not finding me funny. This goes against the spirit of MN and is sending a really negative message to the internet at large.

This is a serious and hurtful issue, and I think we should perhaps think about how this is making new posters feel. If we allow not finding me funny now, who knows the long-term impact this will have on the website as a whole? Where will it end?

MNHQ- can we perhaps include this in the Talk guidelines? It would save a lot of misunderstandings and hurt feelings, and it would just make things a lot clearer for new posters if they realised that finding me funny was, in fact, compulsory.

Surely it would make MN a better place- and who doesn't want that?

Not being funny is the new black.

BareBums · 19/03/2012 23:00

So what is the acceptable politically correct term for being not funny?

LoopyLoopsIsTentativelyBack · 19/03/2012 23:00

But thought it was an effortless lack of humour? Is she trying to be unfunny?

CervixWithASmile · 19/03/2012 23:01

Humorously challenged.

Fecklessdizzy · 19/03/2012 23:01

Well, frankly I'm beyond disgusted at your flippant response to this ishoo.

Flounces off to boycott M&S ...

LoopyLoopsIsTentativelyBack · 19/03/2012 23:01

Comically challenged. To have specific humour needs.

tethersend · 19/03/2012 23:03

I am way to pregnant to be able to join in with S&B, Loopy.

In fact, it's almost like I'm being discriminated against. Which compounds the pain I have been suffering from people not finding me funny. So it's like being discriminated against twice. Biscriminated against, if you will.

The reverse is Humorously G & T. Even worse if you think your own child is.

LoopyLoopsIsTentativelyBack · 19/03/2012 23:04

Sorry tethers, forgot about that, been away from MN and came back for your help. But you weren't there. Waaaaaahhhhhhh

How are you feeling?

tethersend · 19/03/2012 23:04

Cervix, use any terminology you like- the overall detrimental effect on society of not finding me funny is the same. Horrifying.

OP posts:
TuftyFinch · 19/03/2012 23:08

There is a wider sociological issue that would impact on the detrimental and adverse effect that this matter reflects. It may indeed be the 2012 equivalent of Street Corner Society. So, to that end it would really be pertinent for ....

BareBums · 19/03/2012 23:09

Tufty (stoopid iPhone)

lesley33 · 19/03/2012 23:10

tethersend - Just a gentle hint....maybe you should try actually BEING funny?

tethersend · 19/03/2012 23:10

I'm not sure exactly Tufty, but I'm certain that a society which doesn't find me funny is one which none of us want our children to grow up in.

OP posts:
tethersend · 19/03/2012 23:11

lesley, I think you're missing the point.

If we allow this, what next?

TuftyFinch · 19/03/2012 23:11

I really miss that game

lesley33 · 19/03/2012 23:14

I do get your point. If people are allowed to find you not funny things will deteriorate. FFS people might even start finding Hully reasonable??

Yes must not be allowed!!!

TuftyFinch · 19/03/2012 23:14

You're right tethers because then they'd hang around on street corners and someone would do a study on them and write a book and i'd buy it in a charity shop and it would sit on my book shelf. Just looking at me and then I'd write a ridiculous post about it using sentences that really are way too long and using and as the only conjunction and ...

I am very upset to hear I am part of a cult, could we have a board for that please?
