DH got up first and made a nice breakfast and DD produced a box of fudge and a rather nice card.

Then they made a packed lunch and we went out for a rather pleasant walk and now I am sitting here taking it easy as they have told me they are going to cook Sunday dinner between them.

Hope you all had a nice day too Wink

Sounds lovely :o

SmellsLikeTeenStrop · 18/03/2012 17:42

Weird, that is almost exactly how my mothers day has been. Except I got maltesers instead of fudge.

No, YANBU.

OneHandFlapping · 18/03/2012 17:48

Also had a lovely Mothers day. Three bunches of flowers, a mug, a book and choccies. I haven't had to lift a finger, and am currently drinking beer while DH makes dinner.

corinewmoon · 18/03/2012 17:49

Me too, DS brought me a choc croissant and coffee in bed. Then xh came around and took us all out to lunch. They then went to the park and I came home and a nap :)

NoWayNoHow · 18/03/2012 17:49

YABU, only because you have had a lovely Mother's Day, and I have had DS (4) trying to turn my life into the seventh circle of hell.

DH has been fab though.

OldGreyWiffleTest · 18/03/2012 17:53

My son got up at 7.30 and made me a chocolate cake, then gave me flowers and a beautiful card. Chuffed I am !

catgirl1976 · 18/03/2012 17:53

YANBU - Lovely one here too - and my first :)

A lie in, breakfast from DH, a lovely card, flowers and a baloon arriving (DS is very pleased with the balloon), then a Sunday roast with the DPs and Dsis (who cooked it), lovely pudding and wine and a walk round the park in the sunshine.

Very happy - a perfect day

JoandMax · 18/03/2012 17:55

That's great, I'm glad you had a good day.

Fab one here too, it's DS2s 2nd birthday and he's been on top form all day, DS1 has been so sweet and loving, the sun shone....... Now relaxing while DH sorts bath and bed then he's cooking me a fancy dinner.

McHappyPants2012 · 18/03/2012 17:56

Quite a normal day, done the housework and cooked lunch but it been nice and ofcouse loads of hugs and kisses from ds who understands it mothers day and has made me glasses of juice

PurpleRomanesco · 18/03/2012 18:00

Aww catgirl I'm delighted for you! Your DS is really wee isn't he?

I've had a wonderful day, I got two beautiful cards and and some planted Tete-a-Tetes (mini daffodils). I just had a wonderful bubble bath and am drinking a lovely glass of wine that DP picked for me while he makes a fancy dinner for us all.

I hope you all have a wonderful night :)

catgirl1976 · 18/03/2012 18:11

:) Ah, thank you purple - he's 16 weeks and he is just a total delight :)

Your day sounds lovely too - glad you are having such a nice one x

LottieJenkins · 18/03/2012 18:19

I have had a nice day. Wilf and Bumble woke me at 6.30 with a card from each of them a teddy and a mug. Wilf went back to school at 3.30 and i went to church and my friends little boy did the collection with me!!

PurpleRomanesco · 18/03/2012 18:28

16 weeks is so lovely isn't it? It's like they suddenly look up and go "Hey! I know you. You're nice one who feeds me!" and you get lots of smiles that arseholes can't blame on wind. :o

i had a lovely first mothers day... met my mum for a nice picnic and walk, got a lovely box of choccies and card from dd (DH) and doted on my baby all day. dh did most of the nappy changes, housework, etc and its been nice and relaxing, about the only relaxing day i have had in a very, very ,very long time, so glad it happened to be mothers day!

cocoachannel · 18/03/2012 18:37

YANBU- great to have a thread highlighting some lovely days!

My second Mother's Day has been great. It really started yesterday with taking my Mum out to lunch, just us and DD.

Today I was presented with a card DH made showing pictures of DD and me, and then had a Champagne brunch at my favourite restaurant, a long walk, then afternoon on the sofa with the papers and film. Perfect!

Happy Mother's Day to all!

mummymccar · 18/03/2012 18:39

First mother's day here too - breakfast from DP, lots of lovely gifts from DD, all the housework done by DP, lovely lunch and then cuddled up with 2 week old DD watching a Disney film. Now just waiting for DP to finish cooking me dinner. The perfect day!

cocoachannel · 18/03/2012 18:40

Oh and forgot to mention the all important lie in!

catgirl1976 · 18/03/2012 18:40

Lot of lovely DPs out there by the sounds of it (which is no less than we deserve of course, but lovely to hear)

PurpleRomanesco · 18/03/2012 18:46

My little guy is 4 and is currently dictating dinner. Apparently there are simply not enough yorkshire puddings for everyone as he wants 6 (and nothing else apart from cauliflower). :o

Lovely thread indeed!

catgirl1976 · 18/03/2012 18:48

He's a boy after my own heart - I had 3 Blush. I will be very impressed of he can manage 6, but he is BU if he doesn't want gravy :)

He sounds gorgeous Grin

insanityscratching · 18/03/2012 18:54

I've had a lovely day too, five lovely cards off of my five lovely children. Youngest one DD9 wrote "If love was measured in weight my love for you would weigh 16 billion elephants (large ones of course)"Grin had flowers and malteasers, dvd, ds game, book, teddy (that dd has now pilfered) and lots of fuss. Have spent most of the day laid on the sofa being waited on hand and foot.Intend staying here and watching DoI sharing the malteasers.

PurpleRomanesco · 18/03/2012 18:59

Haha! He got two and we promised if he can eat those he can have more as long as he eats his veg. Thank you, He is gorgeous! :o

insanity your DD is a poet! That is one of the most lovely mothers day messages I have ever heard, How unique of her.

PurpleRomanesco · 18/03/2012 19:00

Off to eat dinner!
