All I wanted for Mothers day was a lie in and a cup of tea in bed....

I got a cup of tea...at 6am...and I was force fed hot cross buns. And chocolates...the chocolates I had bought for my mum!

Was theme dragged into the kids bedroom for an impromptu disco

Phew!...how's your morning been?

I have just been made to eat 2 scotch pancakes with cream and strawberries on and a pain au chocolat, and I still have a croissant on my plate. Grin

ohbugrit · 18/03/2012 08:31

Grin downhill from here then?!

DH got in at 4 so no breakfast in bed for me but he did prime DS to deliver me cards (including a very sweet one from DH) and a new base layer. A bit of an off the wall mothers' day gift but I did need one to stop me stealing his :)

We're going to see a friend later and DH is back to work at lunch time so a pretty ordinary day ahead.

Sparklingbrook · 18/03/2012 08:32

By the way YABU and a misery, what's not to like about a disco at 8am. Confused Grin

Honeydragon · 18/03/2012 08:34

Still lurking in bed now about to go downstairs. Dh woke us up half an hour ago trying to drill into the wall quietly to fix a shelf Grin

bejeezus · 18/03/2012 08:36

I feel your croissant pain sparkling

at 'drilling quietly'. Grin

Gumby · 18/03/2012 08:37

Poor neighbours drilling at 8am on a Sunday

Couldn't he wait?!?

ripsishere · 18/03/2012 08:37

Grin at drill quietly.
I woke up at 6 to the cats killing each other. DD is still asleep. She made me a card on Thursday, I look like I am standing on a green turd with a giant yellow cock behind me.
I also got my present three weeks ago. A cuddly flower which has emigrated to DDs room. She'd be gutted if I asked for it back I think.

BenedictsCumberbitch · 18/03/2012 08:38

Biggest childer in cooking me breakfast, I've changed youngest Childers crappy nappy (thanks son) and I have Benedict Cumberbatch on DVD. Not a terrible day so far. Plus I'm going to bed soon as have jus finished nightshirt. It definitely could be worse.

ViviPru · 18/03/2012 08:39

Well Jel of a DH putting up shelves at such an hour.

Gazes sadly at the grundtal still sitting in its efficient Swedish packaging on the floor where it's been for the last 4 weeks

PepeLePew · 18/03/2012 08:41

ds woke up at 6.30, came into bed and talked about polar bears for 40 mins until I cracked and turned on CBeebies. He's now making me a Lego mother's day star ship. I got a lovely card from him. We'll have breakfast soon, pick up his sister from her Brownie sleepover and then have an ordinary day, I would think.

MrsKittyFane · 18/03/2012 08:41

Everyone was away last night, I'm here on my own! It's wonderful!!
I have got 1 hour and 19 minutes before they come back! So much time! :o

Sparklingbrook · 18/03/2012 08:42

My presents-

Two lots of minty chocolates
Cosmopolitan Magazine
3 bags of foamy bananas
The Military Wives CD

Well chuffed. Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 18/03/2012 08:42

Dh tried to let me lie in but ds2 was being Velcro baby and screamed the house down when dh tried to remove him from the bed. Oh well.

I got some lovely cards from the dcs and then I have mostly been ignored. :)

carabos · 18/03/2012 10:15

DS2 away for the weekend. DS1 coming for lunch. Am in bed with DH Wink and have decided that the best Mum's Day present is no children .

Getting a cheeky thrill from listening to horrible NDN going through her normal routine of shrieking at her children and them shrieking back at her, all of them, including the 5 year old, using a full vocabulary of swear words (must be gifted and talented). Grin

armani · 18/03/2012 10:33

I got woken up by dds at Half 5, thrusting croissants at me that where still in the packet! This was followed by a jump on the bed session and a pooy nappy from dd. happy mothers day! :)
