To think my DH should stay up with me and not be a boring old git?

He's tired apparently... I'm sure he is, but he's always flipping tired. I want him to stay up and watch a film with me, he won't.

He's 39 FFS, not 100. AIBU to expect him to occasionally stay up past 10pm, especially if it's a weekend?

No YANBU but my husband IS snoring the other side of the room....

SparkyMcSparrow · 16/03/2012 22:20

Let the poor man go to bed and then when he's asleep, get a frying pan and a spoon and bang it in his ear until the fucker gets up and watches a film with you Grin

SparkyMcSparrow · 16/03/2012 22:21

or chuck some ice cold water over his head

EverythingsNotRosie · 16/03/2012 22:56

I say YABU, I'm the sleepy partner here and not normally up this late. Early to bed, early to rise...!

Rogerbacon · 16/03/2012 22:57

Are you not having more fun on MN?

midori1999 · 16/03/2012 23:00

Undercover, I feel your pain!

Tbh, if we had watched a film he would have just fallen asleep anyway... He's gone to bed now. Gah!!!

Mine is snoring on the sofa and I am hoping he will go to bed soon so I can polish off the rest of the wine Grin

jinsei · 16/03/2012 23:01

YABU. You can watch the film on your own.

My DH has also gone to bed early tonight. It's fine - no squabbling over who's going to have the remote control. Wink

cerys74 · 16/03/2012 23:03

OP I think we might have the same husband!! Shock

Except mine is only 38 and went to bed half an hour ago, so technically stayed up past 10...

elvisaintdead · 16/03/2012 23:03

yabu - next time put the film on earlier. Maybe he thinks yabu for not going to bed when he does...you could go round in circles! Both adults, both get to choose your own bedtimes

bjf1 · 16/03/2012 23:07

YABU. My DH ALWAYS goes to bed before me. I would hat it if he stayed up to watch a film with me....al those stupid questions about "who's that, why is she going in there?" etc. Would drive me mad.
Maybe your DH just doesn't like your choice in films?

midori1999 · 16/03/2012 23:11

Cerys, mine stayed up past ten to prove he could... Grin

Mostly it's fine and I don't mind, but if we want to watch a film it has to be on by 8.30 at the absolute latest or he won't watch it. At this rate in 20 years he'll be in bed straight after dinner or worse... Confused

I'm the early to bed one here. DH came to bed to watch a film with me : )

SparkyMcSparrow · 16/03/2012 23:16

What sort of film was that HSMM ? Wink

HSMM · 19/03/2012 08:41

not the sort of film you are thinking of sparky Grin

CMOTDibbler · 19/03/2012 08:47

YABU - its rare for me to be up past 10.30, and I usually go to bed just after 10. DH stays up past then - he needs less sleep than me
