Why? All this 'I'm not judging but...'

I was a SAHM for 2 years. It was very nice but I was a bit worried about my career and we were quite skint. Then I found a job. I like it but I do miss the kids. Thems the breaks, nothing is perfect.

I imagine everyone has good reasons for doing what they do. I don't care what they are. There were a lot of things I liked about being a SAHM. There are a lot of things I like about being a WOHM.

I come on AIBU for a bit of light relief and entertaining bufights not this tired old crap again!

SAHM/WOHM mums
No. One. Gives. A. Shit.
And those that do and harp on about it all the time need their own topic.
Like BF/FF.
Another subject I don't give a shit about.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 16/03/2012 21:56

This thread's more like it -
the other one was minging
I'm a SAHM
And so I'm singing !

Hey budge up ya all on the smug seat will ya ?

Joining you sure makes a nice change from feeling pissed off that I didn't get that job yesterday ...

Wonders if have a way to go before I attain true smugness ...

Thanks for helping me on my way though sisters !

chairmanofthebored · 16/03/2012 22:00

i am a WOHM and i really don't suck cock honest, i simply don't have the time

nightmusk · 16/03/2012 22:03

I go to work
And slave away
To put food on the table.
I don't suck cock
When I come home
I'm too tired
To be able!

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 16/03/2012 22:10

The shoes on my feet- he bought em
The car I'm drivin- he bought it
The house I live in - he bought it
I depend on him
All the wimmen who are dependent
Throw your hands up at me
All the honeyz not makin money
Throw your hands up at me

Got to love Bouncy for writing that SAHM anthem

I have a job, it beats working for a living not sure where I'd fit in, I suppose I've got the best of both worlds (sung to Hannah Montanna tune)
Just hope I can hang on to the job through these troubled times.

PurpleRomanesco · 16/03/2012 23:17

Imagine no childminders
I wonder if you can...
No nannies or grandparents
No generous friends

Imagine all the children
Fending for themselves.. You..Oohh
You may say I'm a mug
Well I'm not the only one
Maybe some day you will join usss
And then children will know their mums...

PurpleRomanesco · 16/03/2012 23:22

DISCALIMER:

Thee song above has no relevance to PurpleRomanescos' personal thoughts or feelings. It is merely a reply to the horrid song posted up thread and should not be taken seriously by any parent, Working or not.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 16/03/2012 23:39

Which one didn't you like Purple?

I think they're all sick ( as in great in modern lingo, innit ? )

treadwarily · 17/03/2012 04:01

Those threads never bother me. SAHMs can try to appear as smug as they like but deep down they all know that it's better to be a WOHM Wink

AlpinePony · 17/03/2012 06:22

It's just their insecurities about knowing they married for money despite looking down on the "heat" types. ;)

porcamiseria · 17/03/2012 08:04

WOHM suck cock, oh if only......

porcamiseria · 17/03/2012 08:05

hahahahah, clearly not the only one

so, WOHM are bitches as we neglect DH and DC Grin

arimaa · 17/03/2012 08:10

"There is a lot of X on MN at the moment" seems to be code for "Some people who think X disagreed with me on another thread, I am posting here to start another bunfight on my terms"

Haziedoll · 17/03/2012 08:16

YABU. There is some SAHM smuggery and there is some WOHM smuggery and a whole lot of people who couldn't give a monkeys about other people's choices. Just like rl really. Be confident in your own situation. People usually try to undermine other peoples choices because they are not entirely confident in their own set-up.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 17/03/2012 08:26

And some people - especially on this thread - have some wit and humour.
We know it's not really real.

eg. I even said I was being smug about SAHMumminess to make me feel better about not getting that job on Thursday !

It's good to laugh Grin

attheendoftheday · 17/03/2012 13:48

Grin nightmusk yours is my favorite.

alistron1 · 17/03/2012 13:56

We need SAHM's to keep the forums/interwebz going. Without them the www would wither and die. There'd be no blogs about cupcakes and knitting, no arty cloth nappy pictures on flickr, the readers comments section of The Daily Mail (y'all only read it 'cos you hate it don't you?) would be BLANK. I salute you SAHM's Wink

Stratters · 17/03/2012 14:01

It's a tough life alistron, there's no denying it. :(

PosiePumblechook · 17/03/2012 14:03

We all feel smug don't we? I have no cancer in my family, we can pay all of our bills, I still (just) love my husband and I have very nice children.

I am super smug.

bibbityisaporker · 17/03/2012 14:08

Pmsl at this thread. Nice work mn Grin Thanks for all your efforts!

Al0uise · 17/03/2012 14:11

Sahm? I was the last remaining sahwife! Honestly I was like a 1950's stepford, I gave up my extremely good, well paid job 2 weeks before I got married.

We honestly had the time of our lives swi but I look back and I do wonder why I did it Hmm

Takes all sorts I suppose.

Tanith · 17/03/2012 14:13

I'm a childminder, so I'm a full time working mum and a SAHM.

Stands to reason that I work harder than the lot of you and I'm the smuggest on MN, so there! Grin

alistron1 · 17/03/2012 14:15

Tanith, you are a conundrum and an enigma.
